I cant see this being true. That would make alot of games unplayable on the first few million 3ds with just one analog. I just cant see Nintendo doing that.

not sure. on one hand its just business yet on the other hand its backstabing the consumer, but IMOthey wouldn't be copying Sony cause they'd need Vitas whole feature set for that.

they want to save money by easyly porting ip from one device to another, with out having to fold to the diferences in the consoles.

if we are talking about graphics then sure but for controls either use the touch screen or the gyro and that wont cost them anything extra.

no i was talking about 3rd party. ok did i miss something?

One analog severely limits games. That's why people have hard ons. It opens up the possibility for much more different experiences.

Nintendo should have thought about that before they decided to release the 3ds with 1 analog stick

..as if they didn't here the complaint's about psp's analog stick the whole time -_-

Because they were doing ecstatically with just a d-pad while ignoring the complaints of PSP's single analogue stick.

I think those times are finally over. People won't settle anymore. It's probably a good thing and will force Ninty to step up their game, bend their conservative backs.

It'll be good for Nintendo to play the "Sony copier" role for a change, see how they feel about it. I feel like things are about to change for the better at that company.

to play the role of the "sony copier" nintendo would have to put 3 analog nubs on the 3DS.  :P

I can't even believe people are actually considering this rumor...Nintendo isn't stupid there not going to add a second stick when the touch screen works perfectly fine to act as a second stick would.

Hasn't anybody played the Metroid Prime Hunters on the original ds?! Perfect Example of this control type! ANd I had no problem playing super mario 64 ds with a D-PAD! On the original ds...Jeez Portable games don't need a second stick developers need to be smart and design something thats supposed to be played on a handheld not a console.

Strong and passionate, I tend to be misunderstood, sometimes even feared. I don't want to fight, I don't want to cause trouble, all I ask is a little love, and a little peace. If I don't get what I want, I get angry, and throw barrels and flaming oil at whatever's stopping me. What Video Game Character Are You?

All I want is the sequel to LKS to be ported to the 3DS. Seeing that the 3DS is slightly more advanced than the Wii (better shaders, double the polygon pushing capabilities etc) I don't see a problem with porting games from the Vita to the 3DS. If anything it will expand a publisher's audience and thus reducing the investment risk of game development.

I mean, copying the second analog stick WOULD kind of be an admission that great support is not tenable without one, whether it's true or not.  Nintendo wouldn't do it unless they thought it was really necessary.

There's a ton of ridiculous Vita publicity lately, and this is obviously ignoring one major factor, 3DS has more games announced for it.

Looks like we can look forward to a whole year of this.

PSV is getting a lot of publicity because it's getting some really good diverse gaming support from various studios and we hear new PSV titles every week now.  it has nothing to do with the 3ds. why 3ds is not getting such publicity is a different topic. you don't have to 'ignore' it nor do you have to take notice of it.

Yes it does. The price of the 3DS has been one of the complaints about slow sales for the system since March, so yes, it is relevent to Vita.

I was referring to articles like about Sony saying the 3D in the 3DS doesn't work (it does, how petty can someone be to say this, especially after Sony commented 12 months ago that they'd "like to cooperate with Nintendo, rather than seeing the company "bash" the 3D experience seen through glasses." -http://www.industrygamers.com/news/sony-wed-like-to-work-with-nintendo-on-promoting-3d-message/).

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

since 3DS only has one analog stick and Vita has 2, wouldn't it be easier to port 3DS games to Vita? Just remove the 3D ad we'll see flood of 3DS ports on Vita!

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
