Nintendo is apparently producing a brand new entry in the critically acclaimed Fire Emblem franchise for the Nintendo 3DS. Online gaming site The Magic Box has posted that the new Fire Emblem game will be announced by Nintendo fairly soon. The game is apparently titled Fire Emblem: Blue Sacred Sword and Red Demon Lance.

The game will take place 100 years after Sealed Sword, the story centers around Princess of Kingdom Bern and Prince of Kingdom Lycia, each will have different story in their perspective. The game will also have new Casual Mode for beginners and Lunatic Mode for advanced players.

I very much hope so. I'm also hoping that NoA and NoE skipped over the DS game because of its poor timing against the launch of the 3DS, and not because of diminished interest in the franchise altogether, so that we actually get this one this time...

Definitely. Synchronizing with Pokemon superficially is at least a good way for them to try to pitch the game to wider appeal

What i'm worried about is the rumored two difficulties. I don't want my hand held through the game, but i don't want to just go balls to the wall all at once. Hopefully there's a middle gear.

Yay SRPGs, I do love me a good SRPG and the 3DS needs original content. With this news and the price cut I might just get a 3DS.
