Turn 10 might be taking a leaf out of PD book i.e spend more resources on the car and lighting than the track. GT5 track details was plain Jane but the (premium) car and lighting detail was phenomenal.

Pretty much this.

Yup. plus double the cars on screen now when Forza 3 only had 8 cars on track

It just keeps getting better and better. But hey, that's what you expect from a sequel.
If their is something that I for certain will not miss from this generation is those endless graphics discussion. But I guess I am one of the few who prefer content above graphics.

This is a far more important improvement than graphics ones, I'd say. So Forza too eventually achieved what Grand Prix Legends already offered more than 10 years ago...

Bullshit, I could easily go and say the opposite, that all people who say there is an improvement is an XBOX 360 fanboy. Anyway, I haven't even talked about the difference between the two games yet, all I have said is that the footage doesn't even look legit, has piss poor quality and looks absolutely nothing like it would look on a big screen. The image looks like it is being filmed off-screen, blacks are crushed, colours are over-saturated, what person in their right mind would use that video as a comparison, especially without even posting a source. |
And as an observation as both games discussed in the op are 360 games, why wouldnt we be talking about the improvements?
The video maybe off screen, but noteable improvements can be seen. I have just about finished Forza 3 all the way, and can clearly see the differences. Especially the car models.
But hey who would have thought this thread would hhave drawn in GT5 and arguements like this.
Its quite a poor advertisement for VGC actually.

Kowenicki was flame baiting, GT5 wouldn't even have been brought into the equation if it wasn't for him.
And I admire your enthusiasm, but the video is so poor I can't see much of an improvement. That is not the way both games would look on a TV, for the Forza 3 footage it looks like somebody has cranked up the colour saturation to maximum.
There will obviously be a great improvement in the graphics and it would be fun to compare them, but we can't compare them using that video.

Apparently, there is a perception by some that to not get blown away by the footage show, and not believing it is MASSIVELY different (Ok, it does look better in some regards) means the person is part of the GT5 Defense Force.

It's alright, Selnor is being reasonable.
