There was a rumor that Sony was about to implement cross game voice chat via a patch.   But because games were already developed without having RAM set aside for this background task, the patch would have accommodated all but like 5% of the released games at the time.  Unfortunately, that 5% would have included Activision games.  The rumor also continued with Activision threatening to pull support from the PS3 since not having cross game voice chat on their current games at the time would make their games look inferior.  So since Sony felt that not having Activision's support would be a huge blow, they pulled the patch back.  Again, this is rumor.  But since Sony has now explained the reason why (RAM issue), its logic does give more support in favor of this rumor.

Meh, cross game chat is kind of useless anyways. I'd never use it

I don't give a poop about cgc. I doubt i'll use it on vita. perhaps with real life friends but not with people i don't know or care about.

I honestly don't see myself using cross-game chat at all. Someone I know actually wanted it really bad though.

I'd rather have PS2 BC then CGC and I only own 1 PS2 game.

Your first post was probably directed towards fanboys instead of fans you seem to mix those up quite alot ;) (or perhaps you hate both with equal passion)

Either way, fanboys will be fanboys whatever console they're from, the best thing you can do is to ignore them.

cross game chat ain't worth $60 anyway... i sure as hell hope sony doesn't charge for it next gen
