Forums - Sony - SONY: All PS VITA games available digitally

SCEE COO Jim Ryan confirmed the strategy during Sony's Gamescom press conference this evening.

The PSP market was split when Sony ditched the UMD cartridge format in favour of digital distribution when the PSPgo launched.

Sony hasn't confirmed how it will distribute PS Vita games at retail, but the handheld does feature a memory stick format.

If the pricing is anything like ps3's and psp's, DO NOT WANT!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I'll pay up to 40 for retail games but I absolutely will not pay for digital games.

That's not news, they've been saying that since the Vita was announced.

not at all new but i'm still very happy -- i'll be buying everything digitally if i get a vita.

I agree with you, even on steam....I never purchase anything at full retail price. The closest I come is getting witcher 2 at 10% off.

I think they mentioned this strategy during E3, but it's good to see them reiterate it. Over the past two years, the majority of PSP games that I've purchased have been digital copies from the PSN store.

nah at first they announced big games will only to retail as there would be bandwidth costs and memory storage problems

such a variation amongst people in regards to digital distribution.
I think abstaining from buying a game digitally, (which is more convenient, cant loose it, all internal, etc) makes some appear to be ludites.

But then I understand not wanting to pay full price for digital, when at the same cost you could be buying a potentially collectable case and maybe an instructions booklet for your shelf and physical collection.

I think they should knock 10% off the price of digital releases for a few years until people are more accepting of new distribution models, after all it costs nothing to put it on the psn store. Plus there would be a huge uptick in sales and Sony could cut out the middle man. Its win-win.

but to the OP, I think it will be great to see everything day in date on the PSN, I wonder if PS3 games will start to become more dependable in this manner?

Okay, so they didn't say it since january at least. But we've known about this since march at least.
