I don't think quality issues was a result of squaresoft merger with enix, things happened before that.

I think they're intelligence dropped when sakaguchi did the movie they got into financial problems which was a godaweful decision.
Then Yoichi wada became ceo... Now I think everyone jumps on the square-enix hate wagon... as they've made a lot of fun games since. But they're not the quality they used to be. But the reason it's this way is because of the assinide desicion to make the movie.

They were considering merging before the movie, but the movie bombing delayed that. It wasn't necessarily wada's idea.

Worst for me is probably activision blizzard. Though I think this is more of blizzard not caring anymore because of the WoW money train... the game I like that they've done is Starcraft 2(Which includes many assinide things in it).

Maybe my comment wasn't appropriate at all.
I was just stating the fact that Squaresoft made most of my favorite games of all time and it all suddenly went downhill after the merge with Enix.

Square-Enix of course.

They still have a couple of capable teams but the overall quality of the company drastically diminished this gen.

The company made some very bad decisions like releasing the Kingdom Hearts games on 6 different platforms ignoring the fact that the series is story-heavy or the strange 360 support despite it's low popularity in Japan and so on and so forth. I'll just throw FFXIV here.

Luckily they associated with Level-5 for the Dragon Quest franchise.

Square-Enix still made some great games this gen like

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
The World Ends with You
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy XIII
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

but really that's about it. Note that there's only one console game.
