Forums - Nintendo - This is not DS,this is Nintendo 3DS - new ad clarifies things

@Kivi95 @IseeLight, I don't work at Nintendo so I don’t know their logic but I think that commercial was just to show Nintendo's "big guns", as well as the new low price. They could have shown Kid Icarus or something but they didn't. This commercial, I believe, is to build excitement among the Nintendo fanbase.

It would be like Sony showing a commercial for the Vita that features Uncharted, God of War, Little Big Planet, and Gran Turismo. Sony fans would get excited but others would need some convincing. I think that Nintendo commercial serves its purpose for its intended audience.

Ninten78 sent this ad to me.  Another step in the right direction, if you ask me!

That last bit with mario kart gliding over the landscape just got 20+million mario kart ds owners needing a 3ds

My 3ds friendcode: 5413-0232-9676 (G-cyber)

Nintendo would have been better off naming the console, Nintendo 3DP (3D-Portable) instead of 3DS. Maybe . . .

Either way, they're some people in this thread (you know who you are) who is quickly writing off the 3DS, calling Zelda it's only good game and claiming it has no future. Stop trolling and go predict your own future . . .

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

i see what your saying but dont you think its time to make an ad for the non Ninty fans?? Im talking about the ones that dont follow Ninty to a tee. THe games that were shown in the ad were games that the fans already knew it was coming. but thats just me

I think the ad in the OP was for the non-Nintendo fans.  I think the second ad is for the Nintendo fans.  I knew the games were coming.  I always know what's coming but I still like seeing the ads.  Everything from the "Wii would like to play" to the "Dear Playstation" ads show something that we already know about.  Sometimes, it's just good to see them and know when they're coming.  Both ads got me excited because they made the 3DS look awesome.

Why people predict MGS3D cancellation? Make me wanna cry

And I liked the ad, so far Nintendo has handled 3DS like another DS model and this ad was good to prove consumers otherwise.

The thing is why would anyone buy the fullprice 3DS-version when a budget price HD-collection that also includes MGS and Peace Walker is released months before.

Yeah, because I can take those HD collection MGS games with me to my work place. WAIT....?

i don't need these on 3ds or in 3d, i'd much rather have them on wii or launch for wiiu.

I'm quite bored of the Wii, and don't plan on buying a Wii U until I see the big guns that the other consoles have. Oh and I don't plan on waiting for 3 more years for a Wii U release of any games right now.

i'm board of the Wii as well, but thats more so beause haven't found many games to play on it.

If Sony made a Vita commericial without showing gravity daze I would facepalm them to. When not one but two of your "big guns" are ports from a 2 gen going on 3 gen old system and the closest thing you have to a new IP is a pokemon spin off it is not a good sign.

Hypothetically, if two of those "big guns" sell over a million copies on a system with a small user base, and if hardware sales pick up severely when those ports from the N64 get released (They sure did when Zelda got released.  We'll see what happens with Starfox....), what kind of sign would that be?
