some people say that your consciousness is eternal but as far as i'm concerned theres no proof of that and imo our consciousness is caused by electrical impulses in our brains...

its one thing to saya that energy cannot be created or destroyed but will always be converted to one form or another but how do we know for certain that that applies to an individual's consciousness?

We don't know.  But if we currently knew the answers to these questions (such as whether or not we're eternal), what would be the point of living now?

If you think, "When I die, there will be nothing and I'll ceace to perceive anything", then what's the point of this current experience in the end?

Conversely, if you think, "When I die it doesn't matter, because I exist eternally", then again, what's the point of this current experience in the end?

The mystery and wonder that this proposes to our imaginations is one of the key factors that keeps us going.  After all, not a single one of us truly knows whether or not we are the only essence that really exists... or at the same time, if you really exist at all.

why does there have to be a point or purpose?

it doesn't have to be but we form a purpose to continue

otherwise whats the point of existence and working for the future as it would irrelevant

don't get me wrong here i'm not saying with certainty that we will be faced with oblivion when we die i'm just saying that theres no real proof of either outcome being true but we know it has to be one or the other

This is the way I see it. I am a physicist so I probably look at things a bit differently. Basically, I think our only purpose to continue, is to repopulate and continue our race. IMO I think there may not be an afterlife but more so we live our life through our kids when we die, continuing on our bloodline. We further our knowledge of science so we can provide a better and safer life for our kids. Protecting our bloodline and thus continuing and protecting the race of man.

This is only my opinion.

Blackholes actually exist, where as wormholes not so much as I can tell. As an astrophysicist, I spent half a year studying the mechanics, temperature profiles and evolution of blackholes. They are fascinating things and I think is reassuring to know that we have one gigantic black hole at the center of our galaxy.

Sorry to ask, but, why is it reassuring?

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I prefer white/tight holes.

there is proof, the same way nothing ends just abruptly

that way everything we do related to life will not be there,we would just be frozen people going

time and space would have no significance, anything that is on earth is irrelevant

hell all this would just be an illusion

you have to look at it with an open mind,if you just go for the proof u won't find it but when u sit back and realize what all happens in life and why does it happen and what will happen next and why did something happen,u will know then

its like the gaming industry today thinks amrtphones would end VITA and 3DS,but that is just what we imagine the future on the basis of today's situation

tommorow SONY and Ninty bring MARIO,ZELDA,GT,MGS,COD,BATTLEFIELD,PACMAN,CONKEY KONG,UNCHARTED,POKEMON,etc and the future will be changed

Forward Time Travel: Black Holes  and Wormholes are considered as the only way we will ever be able to experience time travel but this in only to travel towards the future not the past. Its like having a ferrari and volvo going to a theme park.A ferrari will travel fast and reach the destination ahead of the Volvo and enjoy more time than the volvo which will have less time as it will spend more time traveling.

Time Travel back and forth: Black Holes could be  portal to different time-zones within our universe since the begining of time and and towards the end of time like parralell universes

Portal to other universes: Black Holes could be portal to different universes with different physic laws.

Exit of the Virtual World: Like whats shown in Tron. This could be a virtual world and all that comes in our and minds and what happens in this world could be directed by a user. Its like GTA,where Niko Bellic goes to sleep to freshen up but who is giving him the command, its us.same way somebody gives us command to go to sleep.

Disintegration: The end nothing else.

I think its fair to say that we know little enough as a species to rule out any of those possibilities!

There really is an insane amount of speculation and inferrence made by so-called objective men.

What is the origin of Worm holes? There must be a base behind that theory, they are so intriguing.

ha it isn't really but hey the blackhole is what is keeping the galaxy together so I suppose you could say that is reasuring to know.  Although a lot of people don't know what a black hole really is. It is the remnants of collapsed star that has a frozen event horizon. If ye guys are interested I could explain what would happen if someone theoretcially entered a black hole but I understand if ye think it is boring.

They are very dense spheres with a gravitational pull equal to C, you see... so you'll likely literally desintegrate into subatomic goo once you reach and cross the horizon event.

Also, they obviously still preserve information like everything else. Get it right, Stephen Hawking!

wormholes are fiction

only a type of black hole is what we describe wormholes in fiction

i undestand everything that you have said so far in the thread

but of you can explain alot more the please do it

i know mostly how it works and why it happened but more would be awesome
