Yes, the costume after 70 years is iconic, after 60 years though...

 

My view on the image in the opening post is that it looks like they are trying to make him cool and gritty like Batman but forgetting it's superman but then who's shadier then Superman?

Nolan DOES have a big say in this, since he wrote the script with Goyer.  The same two who wrote The Dark Knight.  ^_-

That being said, the rest of the work is entirely Snyder's.  Nolan isn't stepping in for anything else.  Just the script.

The latest Batman films and Marvel films have shown that Comic Book heroes have great potential, so I am hoping this will be good, though more interested in the Joss Wheedon directed Avengers

I thought I was the only person in the world that actually thought Electric Superman was cool.
