This poll is promted as I read this news:

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/313830/battlefield-3-will-probably-use-online-pass-system/

and most specially this quote.

"The whole idea is that we're paying for servers," he went on to reason. "If you create a new account there is a big process on how that is being handled in the backend. We would rather have you buy a new game than a used game because buying a used game is only a cost to us; we don't get a single dime from a used game, but we still need to create server space and everything for you."

I agree with the devs there... used games on hosted servers are a cost and the user should participate...I'd rather online pass than monthly fee for FPS.

(then again, I play on PC so i'm used to CD-keys and 0 resell value. "Online pass" actually gives a resell value to the disc, maybe PC users should request the possibility of purchasing OEM CD-keys?)

I think developers should take some slides of the "used games sales" cake. So, in other words I support this initiative :D

I don't have a problem with it. The games I play multiplayer on I buy new anyways because I like supporting the dev's and any other games that I buy used are just for the single player.

I support it,

on a side note I'm in the mood for taco bell...*sigh*

I am against it. They sold 10 games and are expected to supported those 10 games. If 2 of them changed hands, there still are 10 games to support, not 12.

On one hand, I understand that there are extra costs associated with another account. But please don't bullshit us and act like this money is only for that. Having one extra account, and the extra server space being used is not even close to $10.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

i'm not to fond of it, but i don't buy used games anyway unless they stopped making new ones like Ratchet and Clank FTD. dev's should get paid for there work but once its purchased they have no right to the game unless its infringed or pirated.

I would like a discount for not using the online pass that comes with the game. 90% of games I don't care for online, but apparently I'm paying to maintain the server anyway.

Maybe I should switch to buying games with online pass 2nd hand if I don't want to go online anyway.

I'm all for it through in practice it won't affect me as 95% of the games I play I buy new and the remaining 5% are gamefly rental of games without any online...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

You forget that the amount of time spent on a game is estimated, they may for example expect the average gamer to spend 100 hours on a games multiplayer before they stop playing, but if that person sells the game on it is now 200 hours from that one copy, if the second owner sells then 300 hours and so forth.

By that logic, they should be charging those that use the server more. Or simply, charge monthly usage.
