Lets hope your ps3 is just wonky instead of virus-ridden. If someone has finally figured out how to introduce a virus, then the whole world is doomed - the ps3 world that is.

Rofl, I put money this was a black screen shot, you panicked and shut it off without truly checking. I think imma do the same thing on steam.

Also, if you get a virus on a PC or something in the future... rushing to turn it off isn't going to help. lol.

If it wasn't just a black screenshot that made you panic, likely it was just a corrupt image file. Unless the PS3 cracking community has rapidly advanced, there should be no way for them to transmit outright viruses that could run malicious code on noncracked PS3s, however, they could probably make junk files to crash your system, but no worse than any normal game freeze or crash would do

It wasnt a black screnshot. Beside the fact that is impossible to make a completly black screnshot on Black Ops, this screenshot, had no 'HUD', no 'Rate' ,  'Zoom' or 'Cancel' buttons, no icnos of any buttons a all. Plus, the background music stopped, and PS3 started making some noises I never heard before.

I would say more than likely it was a corrupt file that causes the console to crash, you can't trasmit a virus to unhacked PS3's especially through something like BO screenshots. (this is where i get proved wrong haha)

Can you still turn your console on and if so does it still make a strange noise?

Yeah, after A LOT of tries, it turns out to be working again, but its a bit more freezy that usual, but its still pretty playable
