As part of Nintendo's worldwide price cut activity confirmed this morning, it has also revealed that existing 3DS owners needn't feel hard done by.
Nintendo of Europe plans to offer an exclusive Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme to consumers who bought 3DS at the original launch price.
It means that 3DS owners will be able to to download 10 NES games and 10 Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games for free.
To be registered for this programme, you need to connect to the Nintendo eShop before the 12th of August. The
free software will then be made available at a later stage.
More details on the programme will be announced shortly.
Sounds good to me, though I'll have to see the library before I fully pass judgement. Has shit just got real?
EDIT: Found this on Kotaku

'Wait, what? That's right, the 3DS eShop is getting NES Virtual Console games like Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda.
Early 3DS adaptors get the games...early and for free. The titles are slated to become paid downloads for everyone else. Also, ten Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games are headed to the 3DS—games like Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.' I'll definitely get WarioWare and Mario vs DK as I missed out on them first time. I'll probably get Super Circuit as well as my cartridge broke several years ago and I loved it
