That's kind of the point of elimination games. Why would he vote down games games that were already losing to Bioshock? Most people vote down the leading games so their game can win.

He did the same thing most people did. They voted down the game that would be the most competition to their favorites. I don't see how that's unsporting. And whos to say he doesn't like AC & ME as much as Batman & Portal.

I'll admit, I wish Mass Effect would have won, but hey, people didn't want to see it win over their favorite franchise.

So let me get this straight, I voted within the rules, passionately defending the game I felt should win, and that's unsporting, but you killing AC in spite and having a tantrum isn't?  Do you even hear yourself?! 

I wasn't hard on ME and AC because I hate them, I voted against them strategically... it's an elimination game.  And as far as being hard on them, I could just as easily argue that several people that voted for said games also voted down Bioshock consistently too (you included, by your own admission), which made me and a few others defend it all the more... it works both ways, dude.  Did I have a fit when Yo John kept voting Bioshock down?  No; it was part of his strategy and he wasn't being belligerent about it.  Did I cry foul when you consistently voted down Andrew Ryan until elimination in the Villians thread?  Nope, that's how it works.

If it's these kind of results you wanted you should've made a thread asking everyone to list their favorite HD third party games JUST ONCE in the first place, and then added up the totals in the end.

A few people here need to realize that this is just a silly game in the first place and unless, as I said before, someone is cheating, creating alt accounts to sway the votes, etc. come to the realization that not everyone shares the exact same opinion as you.

In any case I have no interest in partaking in any more of your threads/games.  Why don't you save yourself the trouble and just make a thread awarding Mass Effect the greatest game and Bioshock the worst, since that's apparently the only outcome you're content with?

You killed Mass Effect pre-maturely, you know it, and you did it just so Bioshock could come above it.

I did not kill ME prematurely.  I never voted against it once until towards the end of the game.  But obviously I voted against it when it and the other games left were a threat to Bioshock winning, which is what I felt should win.  THAT'S HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED.  What you're saying is equal to a football coach saying, "Well, we would have won the game... if only the other team hadn't scored so many touchdowns on us."  Seriously, what kind of logic is that?

Yeah, it's called passionately defending what you believe should win.  Granted I happened to have the last couple of weeks pretty free and was able to vote a lot, but again, others were free to do the same, and many did.

It's allowing bias, and I'm really curious to see which game people respect the most. If I made a poll right away, how would I know which games to include?

Again, just make a thread where everyone posts their top 5 favorite games just once, tally up the five most mentioned games in the thread and put them in a poll for a final vote.  Simple.

I'm not a fan of Bioshock, but it came 4th, and your not the only one who voted for it. I have no hate for the franchise, just when there were only 10 games left, I felt Bioshock was the worst. I was being fair, and although you did play within the rules, you did sqew the results. It's like playing basketball and shooting against your team. It's within the rules, but not sportman conduct.

First off, I couldn't care less what your opinion of Bioshock is.  Yo John, for example, stated that he loved Bioshock, but loved Mass Effect more.  When he voted down Bioshock, he did it because he wanted Mass Effect to win, and I respect that.  I never said you were not being fair, I'm saying I didn't skew the results AT ALL.  Not even a little bit.  And your basketball analogy is horribly incorrect.  Instead, it's exactly like saying you recognize the opposing team's best player as a threat, but refuse to have your best player guard him because you should respect his abilities because he's good.  That's not how you win games, that's dumb.  One more time with feeling... IT'S AN ELIMINATION THREAD, not the "Everyone guess Michael's favorite game thread".  If that many people wanted Bioshock gone, it would've been gone, plain and simple, no matter what I did.  You just can't bring yourself to see that, making silly excuses instead.

The thing that's so ironic is that you call my method unsporting, when it is you sir, not I, who is demonstrating that trait in spades with your hissy-fit about your favorite game not winning.  It's one thing to voice your disappointment with the results like many of the other players have done; I'm disappointed my favorite didn't win, too.  But it's quite another to say, "No, it didn't come out the way I wanted", cry foul and arrange a do-over until you get your desired outcome.  That's just childish...

There is a lot of crap 3rd party, but a lot of good too. Just more crap then good. definately
