In an interview with Swedish publication AftonBladet; when asked if Revelations was the title coming to Wii U, Guillemot said: “No, not “Revelations.” For the future.” He refused to say if the next title was Assassin’s Creed 3 or something else entirely.

Remember that AC was was confirmed for the Wii U during E3. And already confirmed to be a new title during an E3 interview with GameTrailers TV, when asked if the Wii U AC was Revelations or a brand new game, Guillemot said it was “something completely different.”

They could still use the Wii U title if they need more AC3 story.

This news gave me hopes WiiU would get something new and maybe exclusive... then I saw the rabbid picture and realized it is Ubisoft who we are talking about.

I can see Ubisoft thinking there isn't much point in porting the last game in the AC2 trilogy about half a year late to a non-existant base (if that's the release date).

It must be the case that 2012's AC will be coming. It would also be a bit strange to have 2 AC games on WiiU within a couple months. And surely there isn't something exclusive coming.

I would think Assassin's Creed 3 is likely, so long as they actually intend to properly multiplat with other platforms

The obvious assumption is Assassin's Creed III, which considering the story of the series really ought to come out in 2012.

I believe it will be Assassin's Creed 3. Why? Because Assassin's Creed 3 will be a new arch in the series. A whole new story with a whole new setting and whole new characters (well, there might be some returning, but yeah).

It'll be the perfect way to enter the Wii U. The game itself may not be called AC3, but it will be that game.

It will be a rhythm assasssinz game.

There's logic in your response, and it would be the best way for a franchise to start fresh on a new platfrom. Though they could still be making an AC3 prequel to introduce Wii U users to the series...
