Sorry but I have to disagree with you on both cases.
1-Roger Moore did a very good job replacing Sean Connery (let's forget George Lazenby) by giving the character some very welcome sense of humor. And yes, they are dated, but that doesn't make the movies embarrassing (watch the original "The Italian Job" to see how dated and embarrassing a movie can be).
2-While the special effects look cheap and dated (they already looked like that when the movie was released) the story and actors still work reasonably well, and you can have a few laughts with it (and I mean with it not of it).
Please excuse my bad English.
