The fastest game to 10 Million is Black Ops. Just saying.

2nd fastest was MW2.

:)

Oh, and Wii Sports was a far bigger system seller than NSMB. Mario Kart and Wii Fit probably were too.

You have no evidence for that, it was luck. If Nintendo would have bundled Mario Kart instead it could have been just as lucky.

Funny aint it, I have just as much proof for my statement as you have for yours

As long as we are starting to talk about NSMB Wii in the same league as other games that have had a bigger effect on sales than a measly $50 price cut then I've made my point.

The 'luck' stuff was an irrational side debate that should probably be left outside.

Your point? You said NSMB was the biggest system seller ever. Your "point" there doesnt stand at all with no proof or "evidence" as you said to back it up.

I was including the DS version too. 2D Mario is the biggest system seller ever. Don't forget 2D Mario was available on the virtual console at launch.

NSMB Wii outsold Wii Sports in Japan, where Wii Sports wasn't bundled. Outsold Fit and Mario Kart too and completely trounces PS3's 'system sellers' combined (MGS, Resi, Gran whatsitsname).

That's enough cherrypicking for now, I think we all agree that a new 2D Mario on the home console after 20 years is huge and has more impact than a $50 price cut.

Nononono, Call of Duty is the biggest system seller ever!!1!

While it's true that CoD has probably sold the same amount of systems this gen as the original SMB did for the NES and Activision has clearly worked harder at selling systems than MS/Sony (PS3/360 would be in a terrible position without them), 2D Mario has shown it can dominate globally, at home and on the road, off and on for the past 30 years. CoD has a long way to go yet.

Just give it up. They will continue to downplay Super Mario Bros. until the next game hits and when they are confronted with its enormous sales they will say "It's Mario, what else did you expect?", as if you were the one who has no clue.

To ignore Japan and not realise that you're comparing a 2D platformer to the biggest marketing budget gaming phenomena since SMB3 or Pokemon, is strange.

doesnt matter there console had the desired effect sales wise that N probably never even dreamed of prior to there launch

slim chance that the other two would over take its LT sales

and as said in here theres no real desired effect from them considering that they announced its successor if they wanted to achieve higher sales with it they wouldnt of done that, they would instead announced more 1st party games, new console features, ect.
