Oh man it's coming too the 3DS too? :(

I fail to see how this is a bad thing?

I wouldn't be optimized for vita, though the quote in question makes it seem like monster hunter might be on 3ds down the road but that the one currently being made will be for vita.

To this day, it still blows my mind when I see how the Sony fan has changed.  After a decade of being satisfied with the weakest hardware and having the best support, they complain about how every game isn't optimized because they're available on another, weaker console.  You didn't hear this from Xbox and Gamecube fans!

I'm talking more about dual analog and all that fun stuff.

Well, if the games across 3DS and Vita are without any major differences, i'm curious as to which one would do better. I would think that the Vita version would sell more due to the fact the MH fanbase could play the old MH games on their system. Despite having Unite, I still played MHF2 with friends who did not have Unite.

Vita isn't backward compatible. Capcom and Sony are planning a version of MHP:3rd for the Vita but the rest of the catalogue isn't backwards compatible, unless you can repurchase them through PSN.

Still, if Monster Hunter does go on the 3DS, it would be major loss for Sony in Japan.

It was my understanding that any PSP game that you've downloaded off of PSN would run normally on Vita. Is that wrong?

no you are right and whats more is that apparently psp games are upscaled on vita with some actually using the second stick

So long as Monster Hunter (as a franchise) isn't Vita exclusive (and so long as the portable versions have online play by now too...)

It'd be interesting to see if Capcom could get cross-platform online going, considering that they run their own servers for Monster Hunter, so there'd be less objection from either Sony or Nintendo

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

To be fair, when you have the weaker system and a game's multiplat, your system is the common denominator. Everything would be working on your weaker hardware and ported to the stronger because working with the stronger first and porting down would complicate certain things the weaker just couldn't handle. Considering PS1/2 were market leaders and by a large margin, wouldn't be suprising if everything was developed for them first. Optimization wouldn't be a worry.

Ok, that's what I thought I heard. I wouldn't be too surprised if I was wrong, but I was pretty sure on this one.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
