We invented tea and therefore invented tea-bagging.

What?! You did no such a thing sir. It were the Portugueses who imported the Tea from Asia to the Europe for the first time. Also, the drinking tea as a meal is a portuguese custom, who was introduced by Catherine of Bragança in your country for the first time around 1660.

Mexico's official long name is United Mexican States (UMS).
Mexico also has a influential percentage of African mixed people.

Oh I got it, we have the most diverse amount of cultures in the world.

i can't believe that. sure you have a lot of black people but with your greencard it's not so easy to get in your country and with only canada and mexico as neighbors there aren't a lot of people of other countries coming over the border.

in many european countries like germany/netherlands/gb they have every culture living in. for example a lot of africans who are still africans and not whatever bob marley would say to the black people in america ;)  maybe buffalo soldiers lol

you have china town etc. but that they have in those countries as well, only with turks, albanians, russians aso. and yeah there live a lot of chinese as well. i have no clue which culture doesn't live in france, germany or netherlands.

and with the european union everyone from one of those countries can move to the other countries to live in wirthout any restrictions.

What is their name? Perhaps this would be an appropriate place to forum such concerns and spread facts.

Julius Malema.

I cannot begin to describe this guy... Millions of followers...FAILED PRIMARY SCHOOL...Openly racist...Threatens the current government...At least I can flee to Europe when the shit goes down. Some people are predicting a civil war.

Come on now Dr. Grass, you exaggerate!! Don't wan't to rain on your parade but if I had a $ for the amount of times South Africans have screamed civil war I would be a damn millionare.

I hate the fella and you give him to much credit for suggesting he can lead anybody to open war. Besides, the ANC Youth League will scatter like bitches if the chips are down!!

Really? Does 'Springbok' mean you live in SA?

Gonna have to agree with Springbok360 here our country is no where close to civil war, and im not sure which people you are talking about who are predicting it?

But anyways, some(ok all of it!) of the rhetoric from Julius Malema is unacceptable in this day and age and at the very least he shouldnt be in any leadership position or in a position of power. At least he lost hes human rights case recently (i think ?) not that that means much, but atleast our judiciary is just for the most part. Hes a racist and a idiot, but he doesnt have the power to bring about civil war, the higher ups in the ANC care waaaay to much about foreign investment and money to let that happen ;)

You guys actually spoke about julius malema as the INTERESTING fact about South Africa...seriously? Hmmm i think a interesting fact about South Africa is that it has the largest population of indian people outside of India :) something like that :?

Another interesting thing about South Africa more about Cape Town to be exact, is that it doesnt feel like we live in Africa :/ our culture is very diverse and thers large pupolations of minority groups...which is cool :)

Civil war.

''...defines a civil war as "a violent conflict within a country fought by organized groups that aim to take power at the center or in a region, or to change government policies" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_war

I'm not in the mood for discussing the details, but surely you would have realised that this is a very real posibility.

Cape Town eh. If you think its cool then your in the lucky 5% with me. Unfortunately, MOST people never experience what we do at all. I've made some friends from the 'flats' (I assume you know what I mean), and I can tell you that they live in a difference universe from us.

i was born and raised in the cape flats....im not saying life is perfect here, i was just stating that our range of  diverse cultures is a much better interesting fact about South Africa than Julius Malema.

About civil war...i guess we'll agree to disagree on that one. BTW nice to find fellow Vgcharterz from

You are right, there is no need for talk of Julius numpty so here is two nice and hopefully interesting facts about South Africa;

An area known as The Cradle of Human Kind in Guateng Province is home to one of the world's richest concentrations of fossil hominid bearing sites.

Cape Floral Region is one of the world's richest areas for plants in the world. It represents less than 0.5% of the area of Africa but is home to 20% of the Continent's flora.

if it wasn't for the united states of america being formed first we would of called ourselves the united states of Australia (USA) if we had the chance back in 1901.

Then why do you continue thatbarbaric practice???!!!

- Romanian is a romance language (like French, Italian, Spanish etc.), and it's actually one of the only 4 such languages in Eastern Europe (and the only one that has a significant number of native speakers);

- Romania was the only Eastern European country that had a bloody revolution in order to take down the communist regime;

- Nicolae Ceauşescu (the former communist dictator) only graduated primary school (he never made it past that);

- Approximately 10% of Romania's population lives in the country's capital, Bucharest;

- Romania is one of the most religious states in Europe (and the most religious former communist state), being surpassed only bu Turkey (the Vatican doesn't count, as it's not really a country) - over 90% of the population is religious;

- Almost half of Romanians (about 45-48%) believe that humans and dinosaurs coexisted;

- This year less than 45% of Romanian high school graduates managed to pass the Baccalaureate exam (last year over 80% managed to pass), the main reason being that survailance cameras were set up in the exam rooms, and students couldn't cheat (fun fact: at the high school which had the highest percentages of students that passed, there either were no survailence camers, or these camers "malfunctioned");

- The most watched TV station here in Romania has it's headquarters in a 1 room appartment, and it's ran by a jerk who spread misinformation, makes up facts, and instills panic in the population (this station has also been implicated in a scandal regarding paedophilia recently);

- Americans may have been silly with the whole War of the Worlds hysteria, but just a couple of days ago a hysteria regarding "organ snatchers" who kidnapp children that started from a Facebook message led to some people attacking ambulances with stones (!);

- Vlad Tepes, who served as inspiration for Dracula, is actually considered a national hero over here;

- Romanians will eat almost anything with bread (excluding sweets).

America is one of the fattest countries in the world, if not that the fattest.

America is a continent (or 2, if you consider North and South America individual continents), not a single country.
