It's not so much social skills, their own intelligence is their weakness, they are untrustworthy, they can be cold and calculating. It seems the lower your IQ is, the friendly and happier you are, the perfect example being children or dogs.

And I wouldn't necessarily agree with that, 10 years ago, I felt more accepted as a gamer than I do now.

I think it's because hardcore games are catered towards intelligent people, hardcore games can take a lot of passion, perseverance and intelligence to complete. Not to mention the story of a hardcore game can be very complex and something you can only get into if you understand it, Metal Gear Solid is a great example.

But since gaming has become far more mainstream, the average IQ of a gamer should be about the same as the average IQ overall, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little lower actually.

But VGChartz isn't a website for the average "gamer", it's a wesbite for the hardcore gamer.

I don't see how that proves the test to be 'horribly inaccurate', it could just mean that the correct answer is more often the first one than the last.

I voted according to my score from the test in the OP, 146, but considering the nature of the test that is indeed inaccurate. The closest thing to an 'official' IQ test I have ever participated in was 'Test the Nation' but that was 9 years ago and I was so young they didn't actually have a score board for my age range so even than my score of 111 would be seriously awry.

On the iqtest.dk I got a 126

Can't remember exactly, it was somewhere between 140 and 160. Would be more specific but its been a long time.

I have no fucking idea. I also should explain to you just how laughably bad, retarded, and useless IQ tests are.

My mom took 2 back to back tests. There was about 30 minutes of difference between the two tests. On the first one she got 124, on the second 162. That's right, my mother's intelligence grew 38 points in 30 minutes. Given that rate of growth I am surprised she hasn't solved every single human problem between now and forever already.

OT: IQ test are laughable and I even feel insulted anyone even tries to push one off on me. I basically laugh at anyone who values IQ tests as anything more than humor and an interesting way to pass the time.

Edit: So beacuse of my astounding talent of procrastination I decided to take that one test linked here and I got a 156. This is obviously false because from what I know 140+ is considered genius, and while I think of myself as a pretty smart kind of guy, I am further away from an actual genius is than a retarded person is to me. I would like to point out some extremely laughable problems with it.

1,6,and 8 Really? This is so basic it's not even funny, if someone has gone through basic math class, whetehr they were complete idiots or not, they would be able to get through these.

On page 1, question 9. Being a dual major, one of them math, was greatly beneficial for knowing exactly whether the sum of all square from 1-64 is dvisible by 9, it has nothing to do with intelligence.

#10 is the same thing. If you learned conics then you know this right off the bat, no intelligence required at all.

As for the rest, if anyone has slept through any english class, they will be able to get them. So far page 1 is just as laughable, just as I said before.

On page 2, numbers 12,16,17, and 20 are same as before when it comes to math. The rest on this page are simple puzzles that have been plastered all over kids' entertainment books for ages.

To sum it up, this is absolutely pathetic. The only thing you could argue it begins to measure is education, but even that is pispoor since it measures elementary educatino, at best, and knowledge of kids' games at worst.

P.S. All is not lost though and IQ tests ARE useful for one thing. From everything I have seen when it comes to tests, and people in general, you CAN use them to tell intellignce. If someone actually belives and cares about an IQ test theya are most definitely not even close to intelligent, otherwise they would have seen how laughable the IQ test is at showing anything. To be fair this particular one is more pathetic that the usual ones I see, but those are pretty bad as well.

Just for reference, one of my  friends has an (actual) IQ of 156. He is the top Theoretical physicist in our country and got 95% for his 4the year (its hard as nails) and 97% for his MSc thesis.

He can FLY through any maths textbook at will.

EDIT: Not saying you're IQ isn't also rediculously high. For all I know it might be. It just seems from this thread that people aren't gauging these values very accurately. Most people would be lucky to score 125.

EDIT2: That friend of mine also won an international Mathematical modelling competition in which no other team outside of US (MIT and CALTECH I think) and China have won before.
