actually, we already have confirmed that there is life outside of Earth...

Remember that meteorite that was found last year that had Arsenic Based Bacteria living in its core? This is opposed to the Carbonic based life that is literally EVERY species on Earth. :D

Until we perfect string theory it won't happen. In order to travel faster than the speed of light we would literally need to harness a black hole as time slows near a black hole and have the black hole move along the ship going through the wormhole (string theory). We are so far away from this I can't even make a general predicition.
Games like Mass Effect make me sad

No one said we have to meet them face to face.but recieving their video signal would be cool enough.we could see how they look, their language, art, animals, behavior etc.

You can't travel faster than light.Do not ever say that. but you can make your road shorter :) we do not need black hole.Creating wormhole would give as ability to travel instantly to desired location so that's enough but that would also bend the timeline so who knows how would it work. There is also way to send information instantly across universe.I don't remember how it is called but you can make two atoms to negate themselfs instantly so if you turn one to logic 0 the other one would instantly become logic 1.that can improve our contact with aliens in few hundreds years after reaching radio contact and than we could think with them how to make bridge to them

I'm fairly confident we'll find something like bacteria or viruses in our solar system in the 'near future', if we haven't already. But intelligent life forms? It'll take a lot longer but I'm sure it'll happen in a universe this big sooner or (probably) later.

Eventually. Sure. Why not?

This is how far our radio signal reached in 100 years. The Hitler broadcast at the olympics reached much less region so it's long and bump road assuming that in our galaxy lives 100 of civilizations.Put randomly that kind of dots and you will see how hard it is.I hope we are lucky or that there are some alien superior to us sending radio and TV signal for 10 000 years.

Of course we will. I'm not arrogant enoug hto think that we are the only life form in the entire universe.

Now, we still don't know which are the basic needs for life to form, and even on our own planet we have found that life can appear on some unimaginable places. But the harder the conditions are, the simpler the life form is. So it's more probable to find bacteries or other life forms based on unicellular beings.

And regarding the intelligent alien species. Well, we (our planet) has had at least 2 massive extinctions and then, we humans had the Medieval times which lasted almost 700 years and where science was prosecuted as something evil. If life could appear on another planet with good life conditions and luckily avoided this problems they could be centuries or thousand or years more advanced than us.

There is no life on other planets, don't you think we would have already found something bye now. So,I vote no.

I want to shake hands with an alien.

What if the alien has tentacles instead of hands?
