Forums - Sony - GameStop Lists MGS Collection For $50... Will You Be Buying It?

It really isn't that much though, think of all the shit games people buy each year and never end up playing them or selling them. $50 isn't much to experience what is in my opinion, three games which are easily in my top 10 of all time, even if you are just re-playing them.

For me, PCSX2 just isn't the same experience, MGS games lag like a bitch on it too. I need a seamless experience on a console, with a controller, with all the little sprinkles like chatting with friends and trophies / achievements.

As I said before, HD alone isn't an enough justification for me to rebuy those titles, however good they were. But say Peace Walker having 2 joystick control is enough justification to rebuy it at $20 maximum.

There are sooo many great games coming out each year, for me (on a student budget) putting $50 into games I already own keeps me away from trying new games.

I am not exactly complaining about the price, I am just saying that even if it was for $20 I probably wouldn't get it. I would want to invest that money in a new experience.

HD is enough for me. Pretty graphics, extra replayability in the form of trophies and the fact that I want to play these games but I can't because I don't have the PS2 hooked up is easily worth £30 to me (probably cheaper if I shopped around, I got the Tomb Raider collection for £14). I guess it all depends on how much something is worth to you, I even pay for the PS1 classics which top £8 (that's a rip-off IMO).

Hell yes, MGS is my favorite series, i gotta have HD remakes and since I don't have a psp, including peace walker is just amazing.

A half-baked collection without MGS1 or Portable Ops for 50$/€!? They must be kidding...

I may get them but I am not really excited.

Totally a buy!

*whispers*

...and I sold my PS2 before MGS3 came out...Only played for 4 hours or so...

SOLD YOUR PS2!?  ONLY PLAYED FOUR HOURS!?  Your mother and I are highly disappointed.

It's $10 too high. Will wait for used.

$10 too high? It's literally all of the MGS games. Microsoft is selling one Halo remake title for $39.99. Who is more justified here? I agree with waiting though if it is too much.

It's not all MGS games, it's 3 MGS games, and is missing the first one and the fourth one (if it were really all MGS games I would buy it for $50) It also is a lazy ass port, while Microsoft actually remade Halo to sell for $40. Not that I'll buy it at $40 ($30 or less), but the point is, lazy port with simple upscaling vs actual remake is a pretty big change.
