Just because it's more polished than most beta's doesn't make it any less of a beta. Trust me Gears 3 needed a beta after the launch of Gears 2 multiplayer proves that every game should have a beta no matter how polished developers think it is. I'm sure if Gears 3 released in April it would have been very polished game, but it would still have its problems like the beta did(very few, but there were some). They also needed to test the dedicated servers on how they would handle with a large amount of people. Now that the beta is over the game will probably be one of the most polished games to release this year and definitely the most polished gears game yet. It's still a beta no matter how much you spin it. 

Actually most betas are just for promotional purposes. I see it a lot, when betas are open to pretty much everyone, that none of the issues in the beta are fixed. If it was a true beta then the issues would have been fixed.

There is atleast 2 people in this thread that said "Uncharted 3 beta is an actually beta", which that basically means they're saying the Gears 3 beta wasn't a beta. It just amazes me some people would use that as an excuse when comparing the two.    

I agree with the first sentence, but how do you know some of the issues wont be fixed?

since he is specifically asking which is better, not lets make an excuse that one is an actual beta and the other isn't, gears of war 3 beta was far better. Uncharted 3 was very laggy the entire time, though I guess I didn't play it when they fixed it. No doubt uncharted 3's multiplayer will be further improved when the game finally goes retail, but again thats not what he asked. Uncharted 3's does seem to have more potential than gears of war 3 if they go about things correctly during the last few months of development.

In other news why the fuck don't other console multiplayer shooters have a mode similar to forge mode in halo. This is the only reason halo will always be the only multiplayer console shooter I can actually enjoy for more than a month. If you have friends to play the game with, it has unlimited replayability due to forge. I would be excited for gears of war 3 and uncharted 3's multiplayers, except that I will be playing on same exact 10 maps and the same 10 game modes forever and thus get bored of them quickly. I want to be able to make custom maps and gamemodes on a freaking console games other than halo since most of my friends don't play games on the pc.

no matter how you try to spin it, both are betas, but Gears 3 beta was much more polished because the game was intented to be released in april and the game is already in a "gold" situation, with the Uncharted 3 beta, ND is trying to get the MP fixed for release, so of course it won't be as polished as GeoW3 beta...

without a question, Gears 3 wins this beta hands down.

another thing i'm seeing, is that you're comparing, or at least judging, U3 graphics... IT'S A BETA FOR GODSAKE! THEY SHOULD ADD A DISCLAIMER, "this beta is not a representation of the final game and probably it'll be full of issues, please help us to fix this. THIS IS THE PURPOSE OF THE BETA"

most of the issues have been fixed by uncharted either way. The only thing i can complain about are the graphics, and even then i dont care. And betas are betas regardless. There are tons of little things we might not see that really do get changed. 

Okay fine Gears of War 3 was a more finshed beta than the Uncharted 3 beta. And ND did actaully fix a whole bunch of problems yesterday night. I expect them to soon clear out more problems such as frame rate issues and the graphics in Airstrip as well

there isn't anything wrong with the uncharted beta its just some issues like the jungle map when your about to go outside its light as but then its quite dark and the airfield map needs to be a alot lighter sometimes its hard to see but everything else is perfect
