Alright so I got to thinking with WiiU, this new controller that will open up all kinds of possibilities to gaming. I couldn't help but wonder if Nintendo will keep this trend up. Will the next generation also have a unique controller and if so will WiiU and Wiimotes still be supported. Then look ten years down the line with the third generation from now will it too have a unique controller and if so will the Wiimote still be playable?
If the WiiU controller and Wiimotes aren't compatable with future system's what is going to happen to Virtual Console? I have grown accustomed to buying all my favorite games on virtual console, but in the future with Nintendo coming up with so many controllers will their be room for playing classics and older Wii games, GCN games?
Infact we can be pretty sure GameCube games will be in VC for WiiU, but no GameCube controller, will we all be stuck playing them with a VC controller? (I prefer the Wave Bird). Will we see Nintendo's consoles be completely backwards compatable with controllers or will their be an end to VC games as we know them?
I know this isn't an immediate danger, but I was just thinking how it'll work ten years from now. With the drastic evolution in gaming brought on by Nintendo's innovations what will happen to the games we play today, will we be able to play those games on future Nintendo systems?
