Forums - Gaming - The verdict is in: Nintnedo Wiiu's epic reveal............

I'm pretty perplexed as to why Nintendo decided not to show the actual console. I mean I get it, they're not about the hardware, but why not show it briefly at least, to clear up confusion, and to get people at least a bit more excited? That's part of the fun of a console unveiling, to see what the actual CONSOLE looks like.

It's one thing if Nintendo doesn't show games but why does it matter if they don't show the console? They told you it's gonna use a disc and it's up to 5 players. They showed how multiplayer is going to work when it comes to controllers. Why does it matter if they show the console or not? You don't really interact with the actual console. You interact with the controller. How the console looks really doesn't matter once it's not some oversized brick.

this thread would have been valid 2 weeks go after E3

Well yeah, the reveal kinda sucked, but I don't really have a good recollection of other platform reveals to compare it to other than the 3DS, which was far better I feel just from a showing of games aspect. Getting 3rd parties on board is cool but late ports doesn't really do it for me, though I can see where many would be happy at the general idea of what that means for 3rd party support. All in all, just underwhelming.

On the confusion aspect, I know it seems stupid to some but Nick Simberg and I were watching the thing live writing up news stories and we were stuck for 5 or 10 minutes not knowing which way to report it so I could definitely see where some might be confused.

...

I think you forgot to put a troll face pic at the end of your post

Yes, it was moderately disappointing. However, that was mainly due to the in hindsight unrealistic expectations I had for it, rather than the actual reveal itself.

They still should've revealed at least one 1st party launch title IMO though

You're about two weeks late.

I was just about to say that, good thing I read the second page of replies.

Also everyone has their opinion about who won or lost E3 and how good each conference was. We make a thread or two to discuss the topic then we drop it. Not only is this late to the party but the OP clearly thinks that his opinion matters so much that it is deserving of a thread. Your opinion matters but find a thread related to the subject and comment their.

Example often before I create a thread I search VGChartz (Add topic) on Google, then if I see a thread relating to my subject I go onto that persons thread and make my comment.

Their were already threads about Nintendo's conference failing. It would have been better that you posted your comments on one of those threads. or not at all since E3 was weeks ago!

becomes Nintendos epic fail.

nothing more then the controler of the console was shown and for me thats more then disapointing. i mean all that dam hype for that! just a pure waste of 50 minutes.

even so the 3Ds shows its potential and why its not doomed by any means

Mario Kart tricked out as shown has promise and shows why Mario Kart is a go to ip for any Nintendo fan.

Star Fox brought back memories of shooting boogies out the ski on the N64. Although i'd like to see a new game from this IP. this will be a welcome experiance for all who play.

Mario has never missed an E3 and E3 2011 was no different. looked to much like mario galaxy but fun, and being on both DS and 3DS is a bonous for those who arn't ready to upgrade to the over priced 3DS.

Kid Icarus is another game that would be welcome on the Wii or Wiiu. still looks good/the same from E3 2010 though.

Luigi's Mansion 2 is another IP i'd like to see on Wii, but the young plumber and his vacum will be ready for the 3DS.

other then that all Nintendo showed was an Ipad with buttons for a controller.

Nintendo gamers can also enjoy ports of HD games from the Wiiu's HD brothers, but wht else can they expect?

so long story even shorter then Nintendo 2011 Pess confrence as the hammer has fallen and the verdict is in

                                                                                      Verdict: Epic fail

the dialog isn't exactly like i want it but my points there

What?

We. Do. Not. Care. These threads are redundant, repetitive, and boring. And as Reggie said with not showing the console: "It's a BOX", it's about as important as an extension cord.
