Vita hands down.

Gilga, you are really not worried about downgraded high profile game franchiases from the PS3? Sony needs to get a lot more games like Patapon or Locorocco etc. with good advertisement and a more global appeal in whacky ass games for it to sell to the masses, I mean a ton more, and from 3rd parties as well, they don't have the same image that Nintendo has already built, and what if Capcom and Nintendo do have an agreement on Monster Hunter down the road, 3DS is perfectly capable of a good Monster Hunter game now unlike the DS, what happens to Japan then? Sony has a lot of hurdles to overcome.

I don't understand this only console IP on PSV mentality...it's just rediculous..it's almost as if no one has even seen the line up of games for the device >_>

Since Nintendo has taken the 3D output as license to make pseudo Gamecube games on the 3DS, I really think the Vita has a chance of overtaking the 3DS in Europe and Japan. Sales will be strong in North America but no enough to claim a strong dominance.

My biggest fear is this may very well end like N64 vs. PS3 in numbers i.e. 2 3DS's sold for every 3 Vita's sold in their first 5 years.

Pixel Art can be fun.

3DS will outsell Vita without a doubt in my mind.

Like I said in my thread:

Sony won't beat Nintendo again until it finds a way to get nearly all of the 3rd Party support like it did back with the PS and PS2.

PS had 6X as many games as the N64 and PS2 had 3X as many games as the GameCube.

Nintendo just has way more popular and known franchises than Sony does for it to possibly win without dominance over the 3rd Party's...looking at the future 3rd Party support on the 3DS...it won't happen this time.

Thing is that third parties have never been significantly successful on handhelds, nor have they ever put much effort in the handheld market. The DS got great support, but it's top games were still mainly published by Nintendo. Even getting lots of 3rd party support will be pointless for Sony, if 3rd parties don't start treating the handheld market as seriously as they do the home console market.

By the time the PS Vita will be released in all regions and its post-launch game drought will be comming to an end the 3DS will have seen a price reduction, will potentially have a re-design that adresses most of the issues people have with the hardware, Nintendo and third party publishers will regularly be releasing interesting core titles, and Nintendo will start releasing market-expanding titles on regular intervals.

At about this time, DS interest will begin to drop off rapidly and people will be looking to upgrade to the next generation, and backwards compatiblitiy, the lower price point, a larger library, and the steady release of titles that interest DS owners will enable Nintendo to recapture the bulk of these users.

IMO, PSV will have a better launch and has a chance to not only match but to surpass 3DS total sales in the first year.

After that I think the 3DS will, slowly but steadily, sell more than PSV and will end selling more.

3DS will win, but by a very small margin, comparable to PS3-360 levels.

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

6 months ago I would of said the 3ds, Now I choose the vita, esp after hearing the price
1. 3ds $249 it does 3d but only for limited time recommended
2. vita same price, does everything except 3d but with far better quality

Nintendo rules the handheld market, they will keep the iron grip.
