The Wii will be readily available in more places during the year - but will still sellout next Xmas. I think the real question is when will the Wii be easily purchasable during an Xmas period - probably 2009 (I can't imagine it still selling out then).

WiiFit is going to be the next one - Ninty need to crank up production of that baby to 500k per week, if they seriously plan to launch outside of Japan soon (maybe they are already stockpiling...).

 Exactly.  People need to understand that summertime is a huge lull in the video game market, which normally ends almost any demand problem.  I mean for Wii to have still sold out in 2007 during the Summer was unprecedented.  But once production increases by Summer 2008 supply should outstrip demand causing the shortage to be over.  But that doesn't mean that when holidays come around that it won't sellout again, as this is when demand increases.  Wii is the console version of the DS, and will follow similar trends as the DS, thus this is probably what will happen.

Sometime between May-October 2008. However, beginning November to February it will sell out again.

I am thinking summer of this year. But if they release colors at some point, 2009 sounds more accurate.

If they release new colors, I will buy a second one in red and then a third one in blue.

And possibly a fourth one in green in 2009.

summer 2008 Wiis will become available. I don't think it will ever hit 100% availability (ie, the point where most shops gets their next shipment before the previous shipment runs out), but you won't have to get up early to buy one. On the other hand, you won't be able to walk into any game store at any time and buy a Wii.

I hope people think ahead and do their Christmas shopping early, because there will be sellouts in Christmas 2008 as well. In summer 2009 the Wii will be available, and should not be completely sold out again.
