I dunno. Things have gotten worse, but the fundamentals of the community still keep standards here better than i have seen elsewhere. Like on Joystiq when the whole "West & Zampella v. Activision," came up, if you posted anything more objective than "Kotick sucks donkey balls" or some other bit of anti-Activision pro-Infinity Ward propaganda, you could sit back and watch your comment be downvoted into oblivion, but here i recall having an actual discussion on the matter, a fairer assessment of West & Zampella's actions or of what Activision had going for it.

On other sites certain ideas are taken for granted like the concept i mentioned above, ideas that we keep constantly questioning here, and that keeps things from ever really going down the tubes.

If you want to help bring back intelligent discussion I really don't think your thread is the way to go about it.

In all honesty, it's a nice place for gaming-related discussion and a good read if you know who exactly is worth reading, nothing more, nothing less. Pity, I'm drifting away from gaming.

It's definitely a double-figure IQ place, which is unsurprising, seeing as it's very mainstream and the nature of the site (tracking sales success) brings out the very worst fanboys. There's a shocking level of immaturity; it says a lot that posts bashing specific platforms or games are banned: the people here apparently can't be trusted and have to be watched over by moderators all the time.

It also seems to attract people who are quite young and very internet-naive. Coming here is like going back in time ten years, to when sites like 4chan never existed and everyone took everything seriously. Naturally, this makes it a troll's paradise.
