I wonder if it would be practical to play this with WM plus and have the new controller sitting in your lap for menu, maps and some other special elements.
Nintendo's development budgets this gen have already become pretty long. Next gen will probably be much longer.
But if any franchise deserves it, it's Zelda.
great!!
but i think it's too much Zelda
I mean spirit tracks in 2010, ocarina in 2011 and skyward sword 2011/2012, wouldn't 2012 be too soon for another home console zelda game!?
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

But Spirit Tracks was 2009. Also Homeconsole Zelda =/= Handheld Zelda.
I'd welcome this news, especially since the long wait for a proper Zelda Wii title.

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Why are people getting excited about this already? Get excited about Skyward Sword if you want to get excited about a Zelda game. We will get a WiiU Zelda in due time. Just don't expect it anywhere near launch.

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)
I gotta say I agree with many of the members who say this will not be a launch title. I expect Nintendo to put a huge team on it but I still suspect the game will come in 2014 probably. I mean Miyamoto likely put a small team into pre-planning the game and creating that WiiU tech demo, but they likely aren't far into development.
Then again Nintendo's internal teams have had dev kits for around 3 years so you never know. But I doubt Nintendo will release a major home platform Zelda game a year or two after the last one. I bet we see the first trailer next year alongside SmashBros , then a bigger trailer and live demonstration at E3 2013. Then the game will either be released that winter or like SkyWard Sword one final hurah at E3 2014 before its final release.
Nintendo usually draws Zelda out for a long period of time, especially on the consoles!

HD zelda means only one thing.... harder puzzles due to smaller/trickier clues :p (and Wii U will be used as a treasure detector/ door opening device)
