I'm predicting a rather short gap between SS and WiiU Zelda, probably only 2 1/2 years. If they've already done a fair bit of the work, it maybe partly explains the large gap between TP and SS

This. They're changing the structure, so the next Zelda must be some kind of WW or TP, with a base done.
