You don't really major in theology to become a pastor. You go to a seminary for that.
Theology majors are more or less only good for being a theologian (an academician dedicated to theology), similarly to how you only go for Philosophy to get into the scholarship of Philosophy

Well, shows how much I've planned out, now hasn't it? :P

Mr.Khan is both right and wrong. At my church I know two pastor's who majored in theology, they say its very important to understand theology to be a pastor. However he is right in saying you will need to go to a Bible College or Seminary depending on which denomination you plan to pastor in. One of my pastors just left to take Theology in University, but he's already a Pastor so....
Actually scratch that while my church requires you major in something and take seminary, not all pastors even do seminary or Bible College. My old Church was its own denomination (Non-denominational) they trained their own Pastors and hired them. So those Pastors never went to Bible College or Seminary.
But seminary and Bible College look good if your going to be taken seriously as a pastor. So if you choose to become one you'd probably like to get educated.
