On my end, i finally can verbalize what is wrong with the Water Temple. Not that it's convuluted, but that the water level control system means that if you screw up at any point, then you have to go all the way back to the first area (where Ruto appears), set the water level back to zero, then from there set it back to where you need it (if you need it at 2, but are at 3, you can't just jump back to 2, but have to go through one to 2), which really sucks up your time as you're playing the guessing game that is finding small keys.

Furthermore, that issue is exasperated by the fact that you must lower the lower the water level - to get a single key. The backtracking that results from ignoring that key - as I did, figuring I could get it later - doesn't sit well, though the player only has himself to blame for it. I get the feeling the temple was designed with clever use of Farore's Wind (which is an awesome ability) in mind... Still, that design flaw is one of the two annoyances I have with it. The other is the room where you have to constantly raise and lower the water level by hitting a switch - it's just an exercise in tedium with virtually no thought involved. Still, I really like the temple.

Khuutra, I've started playing Twilight Princess right after E3 so sign me up. I'm only about to climb Death Mountain with my new sumo techniques and Iron Boots, ready to toss Gorons out my way. So sign me up.

Anyone else at the same point in the game I am? I'll start posting in the thread consistently once I beat the Goron Mines.

About Majora's Mask:-
Is there anything I should know about before starting (e.g. missable stuff ...etc)?

Please without spoilers

Only one missable treasure chest in the game.  The very beginning of the game, prior to reaching Clock Town, there's a small chest on a deku flower I believe that contains Deku Nuts.  If you miss those, you miss them FOREVER!  That's the only thing though, to my knowledge.

Bongo Bongo is easily the hardest of the OoT bosses. None of the other fights are as fast-paced in terms of how rapidly the boss attacks, and even Ganon is more predictable

But Bongo Bongo makes up for a piss-easy dungeon (at least in normal mode. In Master Quest the Shadow Temple really got revamped well)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

So I've finally made it to manhood in OoT. I'm taking my time, but I'm really enjoying fishing out all of the Hylian lore that I didn't pay much attention to when I was playing it all those years ago.

Also, I took a look at this video... and I forgot how effin' creepy and crazy it all was.

I just had a thought

Could the guy in Skyward Sword be one of the Twili? We know it's pre-OoT, and we know the guy's part of a group that's after the Triforce...

Huh, that's a good thought Mr Khan. He's named "Demon Lord Ghirahim", but when he snapped and teleported, the magic that radiated off of him did remind me of Midna and Zant.

What I thought was cool about that video is the immense power of the fused shadows that even the three spirits of light are fearful of its power. But Ganondorf crushes it with his fist. The dude is a badass.

Bongo Bongo a punk. I spit on Bongo Bongo! I stab him in the eye. Pretty sure the last three times I fought him he never managed to hit me.

I haven't been able to play the past few days, but I played today at work.

Dodongo's Cavern is short. Managed to get through it during my lunch break.

I remember that the first movie footage I saw of Zelda - early 1998, downloaded at 5KB/s over the course of considerable time - was King Dodongo's intor movie. God, I wanted this game as soon as I saw that giant freaking dinosaur. I still get goosebumps every time it roars.

As long as you don't distract him with shiny fishing hooks.

OT: Left the Spirit Temple with a distinct taste of BORING in my mouth from the Twinrova fight. (The dungeon as a whole is still one of Ocarina's best, though.)

I'm thinking about going for 100% completion for once. Though I really don't feel like capturing 10 Big Poes for a bottle.

My brother tells me that Boss Rush mode is very interesting - in that they give you minimal equipment (Hookshot instead of Longshot, 30 slingshot seeds, 30 arrows, no bombs) and five hearts. He says it's much more difficult than the usual game.

I look forward to that.

Twinrova fight was awesome, why not like it?
