Forums - Gaming - EA : We LOST Some FANS With Dragon Age 2!

For Dragon Age 3, I would love it if they kept the same battle system, but integrated it with the diverse setting of Origins

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

EA is taking cues from Captain Obvious here.

Oh well, at least we have Witcher 2.

It was BioWare who lost fans. EA lost theirs a long time ago

lol true

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

Whaa Whaa Whaaa, we made a piece of shit game that looks worse than what's in our toilet every night whaa whaa whaa why didn't fucking idiot gamers lap it up this time? whaa whaa whaa

I wonder how many of those "fans" lost were PC gamers who used to play BG and have learned to give shit a nice wide range.

THIS!!!

You see, I absolutely loved Dragon Age II. Love it bits. The combat system, dialogues, etc were such a big step forward from Dragon Age Origins and I cannot love it enough.

But also there's one aspect I don't like and think can be fixed easily.

- Diverse Environments. It got tedious just visitng the same places over and over again in Kirkwall. I want more diverse environments.

Keep the combat system and improve other things and I'll anticipate a even great Dragon Age III

I am not a PC gamer (well I am, but I ain't... I play on every platform...or try too), and I was one of those fans, but in general I agree PC gamers should hate this thing the most.

Well I think part of the problem is that they tried to do with DA what they did with ME1. ME1 was by all accounts a better game than ME2. Better ACTUAL story (not just expositin about characters), better RPG elements, more to explore, and a pretty neat revolutionary combat system in an RPG. Then Bioware came around and shit on it and made a slightly worse sequel.

They then tried it with DA, however DAO was a much different beast than ME1, one that attracted people starved for a non retarded, not compeltely dumbed to level of profound mental retardation combat, big world, big story, kind of deep skill tree, type of game. Then they shit on it and made DA2 which was a significantly worse sequel. Problem is that the people who liked DAO weren't like the people who liked ME1, and I guess they just realized how different they were.

I thought ME tone didn't get hindered in 2. The combat and the RPG elements did (it was um dumbed down, as they say), but not the overall tone.

Well yeah, I agree, I wasn't trying to say the tone was ruined, it was definitely there. That's why I said ME2 was just slightly worse. Wasn't bad enough for me not to buy it, but still worse. Meanwhile DA2 was just bad, like... BAD. I still can't even imagine how they designed this game.

"Ok so players liked the strategic difficult combat."

"well fuck that, we need dumb combat so the most retarded idiot out there can play it!"

"People also liked all the locales"

"well fuck that too, too much time and effort"

"I hear people liked the expansive story"

"Yeah well, just fuck that"

Then they have the audacity to be like "Oh em gee, why didn't people like our game?!" If every sequel/game like this wasn't propped up by idiots like this, gaming would be in a much better state.

EA has admitted it "lost some fans" with the release of fantasy role-playing game Dragon Age 2.

Dragon Age 2 launched in March to mixed reviews. Eurogamer's Dragon Age 2 review turned up an 8/10.

Many fans complained at the re-use of environments and the single city setting of Kirkwall.

"We were clearly disappointed with some of the response from the fanbase, because we want them to be as excited about it as we are," EA Games Label boss Frank Gibeau told Eurogamer.

"We're very proud of the game. We tried to innovate and do some different things with the combat system and some of the way we told story.

"But to be honest, we lost some fans as well. They were not pleased with some of the innovations and things we'd done."

My head hurts reading this. Really, it's mind-boggling how they have the audacity to say such things...

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
