Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Can Support Two Controllers, Pachter Says

Move is an add-on, the Wii U tablet is not, if the tablet was an add-on for the regular Wii i could care less. The tablet is the MAIN controller for this new console. Yes the Wiimotes could be used, but whats the point for me to get WII U?? I already have an HD console and a WIi what incentive would i have to upgrade??? Im sure that Ninty will find a way around this, but if they dont im just gonna skip their console

@Roma i want options, one person using a different controller and everybody else HAS to use something else, is not awesome, having options to do so or not is awesome

lets not kid ourselves here, they're trying to sell you on the tablet controller, the fact that they didnt even show the console at e3 proves this. The "revolutionary console and only one person can use it at a time??? Imagine if Wii woul only let you use one Wiimote and the rest had to use GC controllers, tell me that woul dnot suck

They are trying to sell a concept and the possibilities of that controller right. There's still MORE than a year for launch, dont u think they are gonna show more? Remember the first time they showed the Wii? They showed just the controller, and the idea of motion games. That's what they did with the U table.

YOu are wrong.....a revolutonary console and 5 people can use it at a time, didnt u see the friking videos? I counted 5 players total, playing at the same time.... and there's still no confirmation if only 1 tablet is gonna be supported.

What dont you tell me about the move? how many players can play at the time with that thing? With the move/nav combo? Now that's a step back...

What's revolutionary for the other 4 players though? Updated graphics?

Doesn't the same apply for X360 and Ps3.... and I don't know why people don't say a thing about that; if those consoles (x360 n ps3) were enough for some player, why won't the wii u be enough?

thank you, Seece

@maynard tool  last i checked i could use four Dual Shock 3s and four 360 controllers, hell PS3 supports 6. How does that apply to those systems??? Are you talking about Move and Kinect?? Those are ADD-ONs, the tablet is not, its the main damn controller. Its not the same thing. How is this hard to understand???

Wtf.... do u know how to read? What is so revolutionary on using the same control over n over again (DS)???? He wasnt talking about the # controllers....

And how is it hard for you to understand that we dont even know how many tablets is the wii u going to support simultaneously??????? What.I DO know, is that at least 5 players are going to be able to play at the same time in the Wii U. nothing less, nothing more....

im not trying to crap on Wii U here, ive been excited to this point, but if it will truly only support one tablet at a time. What will motivate the casual Wii sport/Fit playing audience to upgrade??? They dont care about HD graphics as much and wouldnt they just stick to the Wii, if only one person can really benefit from the system???

People asked the same questions when the wii was first introduce (about the controller, the games, the support, the market they were aiming at, how nintendo was gonna attract costumers to the new concept....); Time passed and answers came up... so just be patient, and wait for more information .

THey said it can only support 1, for now, thats the info im going on. If thats cool for you, its not me and judging from reactions alot of people think its hogwash too. FYI, pump your brakes, i never said the tablet wasnt revolutionary, dont know where you got that from, but having a revolutionary controller and you can only use one per console, sucks. The only people that benefit from that is Ninty themselves, not to even have the option??

fair enough, i still dont like the idea of just one console, but i hope and believe that Ninty will unscrew that

I dont like it either actually.... i love local multiplayer, i prefer it over online multiplayer. Hopefully they will allow at least 2 tablets simultaneously, but if they go up to 4, that would be just awesome. But 2 would be good enough, especially if each one can support 4 wiimotes.... that would be 10 players at the time... that's just insane!! i'd love to see a game that supports 10 players locally.
