I've played it for a grand total of 10-15 hours and that's even after my cousin bought the game for me so I would play with him.
It's an ok game but I can't really get into it.

I never played WoW. The reason is simple I got temporaly addicted to Diablo 2. I was really surprised because I normally dont play that much. And I just didnt want to risk to waste my time on another Blizzard game.
Sadly my Diablo addiction is still somewhere dwelling and I will buy Diablo 3. As countermeasure I wont play anything else or waste my time on TV or forum s during the time I play Diablo 3 and hope I will get fed up with it soon. Wow robbs away even more time and keeps you entertained longer so I am definetly not going to play it.
I played WoW off and on for about 4 years on the Lightbringer server. A friend and I bought Cataclysm and started new characters to see all the new content, but never did make it to 85. We were just too burned out on it by then. You can only play a game for so long.
"But I don't want to go among mad people!" said Alice. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat. "We're all mad here."

Spending 2 months in a MMO generally means that you quite enjoyed it, however the game couldn't hold your interest more than that. I spent 2 months playing Aion as well. Good game at the beggining but really mediocre later. The main problem of all MMOs is to find ways to keep a wide range of gamers hooked. FFXI did that for players who were enjoying PVE and story-driven games' content. Someone who doesn't care about PVE content but only for PVP would find FFXI a dull game. Balance is the key for a MMO to satisfy all kind of gamers.
For me WoW is nothing special, just a mediocre MMO game with enough marketeers behind it. There were more interesting MMOs out there but sadly people didn't give 'em a go. Hopefully, the new generation of MMOs (TERA, Blade & Soul, Archlord, etc.) will change that.

I tried it once. On a private server. I played for an hour or so and while it seemed a bit better than most other MMORPGs I've tried, I was pretty sure the game wasn't for me. I'm a huge fan of the concept of MMOs but most of them feel wrong. MMORPGs really feel a lot different from other RPGs.
I'm playing it from 3 weeks and absolutely love it. It's the perfect game for me and there are things to do for everyone. I have to say I was not sure of the quality of the game, but I ended up playing and now it's my most played game of the month (and probably will also in the coming ones). Too bad for ArenaNet and Guild Wars 2, I was waiting for the game but now I'm satisfied with WoW, they'll really have to innovate to make me chose another MMO for months.
Quit right before Lich King came out, was in Sunwell gear on Prot Pally and a ton of res on mage, played LK beta and wasn't impressed and wasn't gonna spend more money on it, came back after Cata came out, played for 3 months, got all my Epics, again, got bored and stopped playing but sub didn't run out until July so I checked out a little of Firelands and that was about it, not going back again.

I used to play it. Was actually the first mmo i tried. Before that i was a bigtime cs player. Never really strayed from there in terms of online gaming.
When it first came out i thought it was awesome. Spent a good few years playing it doing the raiding and ppv. Got a commander rank (the old guys will know how hard it was to get those ranks). Made a lot of friends and generally had a blast.
But the reason i quit was a mixture of things. Mainly getting older and having no time to put the amount in that is needed to get anywhere.
However as the game progressed i started to get angry with it. Blizz lost direction and changed things for no reason at all. Back in the day taking down guys like ragnaros or Nefarian was a really big thing. The gear that you got took soooo long to get that you would never think of deleting it.
But now Blizz are just going over the same content and calling it something different. It is a slap in the face to those who played back in the day. It just stinks of amateurism now. If it was any other game doing that it would be savaged by the media and gaming community but because it is wow they seem to turn a blind eye.
Whenever i now read about "whats new in Wow patch 3 billion and 1!" on the various news sites it makes me actually feel sorry for the people who still play it as it sounds sooooo boring now. I am not surprised it lost almost a million players in the last 6 months. You can only pay to do the same thing for so long before people realise they are getting ripped off.
i always wanted to but never found the time
