I used to play it. Was actually the first mmo i tried. Before that i was a bigtime cs player. Never really strayed from there in terms of online gaming.
When it first came out i thought it was awesome. Spent a good few years playing it doing the raiding and ppv. Got a commander rank (the old guys will know how hard it was to get those ranks). Made a lot of friends and generally had a blast.
But the reason i quit was a mixture of things. Mainly getting older and having no time to put the amount in that is needed to get anywhere.
However as the game progressed i started to get angry with it. Blizz lost direction and changed things for no reason at all. Back in the day taking down guys like ragnaros or Nefarian was a really big thing. The gear that you got took soooo long to get that you would never think of deleting it.
But now Blizz are just going over the same content and calling it something different. It is a slap in the face to those who played back in the day. It just stinks of amateurism now. If it was any other game doing that it would be savaged by the media and gaming community but because it is wow they seem to turn a blind eye.
Whenever i now read about "whats new in Wow patch 3 billion and 1!" on the various news sites it makes me actually feel sorry for the people who still play it as it sounds sooooo boring now. I am not surprised it lost almost a million players in the last 6 months. You can only pay to do the same thing for so long before people realise they are getting ripped off.
