Forums - Nintendo - THQ: Saint Rows 3DS was never in development

So that's why only the logo of Saint Rows was presented last year

GS: What happened to Saints Row: Drive-By?

DB: Honestly, it was an Xbox Live game that we started that was really good, but the costs were getting really high for the platform, so we shelved it. That's all it is; it's not really a big story.

GS: Wasn't it announced on the 3DS as well?

DB: No, we talked about doing a Saints Row 3DS game, but we never started it. We have a couple of other things in development on the 3DS, but we wound up not starting that and starting a couple of other brands instead. There was no drama in any of that, honestly.

I wouldn't expect anything better from THQ

Why did you bring the drama, sir?

Can I ask... Why?

They did announce it. I could buy that they didn't actually start 3DS work yet, but to outright deny it was announced is dumb. That makes them look like liars. Still excited for Saints Row 3, but man, that answer is just poor.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

THQ is the company that used a game about spiders and scorpions to test how viable the Wii is for hardcore games. Even though it was the best selling spiders and scorpions game of this entire generation, they decided to drop support.

The Wii doesn't need hardcore games though. THQ actually have done well on Wii (And DS). They've sold more SW on Wii than they have 360 or PS3 and the DS craps all over the PSP for them.

Because it sells just fine without them?

Yea but the 360 and ps3 sell just fine with core games alone that didnt stop move and kinect. Also you dont think wii owners want any hardcore games?

The key word in my post was "need".

The Wii doesn't need them games, just as the 360 didn't need Kinect and the PS3 didn't need Move.
