Forums - Gaming - Is it too late for the ps3 to beat 360! (or Wii)?

The ps3 has beat the 360 last week. That's good. But the Wii sold more than both of them combined last week!!!! into the millions!!! what i wanted to know is this- is it to late for ps3 to surpass the xbox 360? i really don't think that it will catch the wii really! the wii taps into different markets and the core. it has power! the ps3 and 360 target the same core. your thoughts? plz no rude comments, no rude posts, no dissing consoles, and no foul language guys!! i'm serious!

Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil

Of course not. It's possible the Gamecube could make a surprise comeback next week and sell 4 million units.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

imposible is nothing, the next gen war tarted last year, that means that we have another 4 or 5 years to decide the winner, maybe the wii start to sell less, maybe not, or maybe the ps3 will be the new wii in two years and sell a lot, while the wii could sell like the ps3 last year.

I think that the wii will be the winner of this gen, with ps3 in second place, and xbox360 at third. But we will have to wait

This isn't a race for 1st place anymore, it's a race for who will be 2nd and 3rd. Unless Nintendo ROYALLY EFFS up, they won't be caught. It really comes down to can the 360 keep it's lead, or will it falter to the PS3?

I don't see how the PS3 can "win" this next generation. The Wii has sold 10million more units than the PS3 in its 1st year...that is a huge gap to over take. Also, the Wii is still very popular. The Wii will be around for another 4 or 5 years but the PS3 will be around for another 9 yrs so...in the very very long run..it might over take the Wii in sales.

again?

again this discussion?

once in two weeks it's ok

but now we get a topic like this everyday

 I agree.

IMO (very likely with regard to the 360) it's likely to happen looking at the PS3's games line-up, feature set, specs, future outlook (cheaper PS3 slimline combined with PS2 to be discontinued at some point, HDTV uprise, etc)

The 360 should be no problem (90% of current installbase are coming from XBox background according to analysts, the pool of upgrading XBox users is rather limited, initially upgrading happened faster due to the demise of XBox software support), with regard to the the Wii it would be interesting to see how much Nintendo will be able to attract new kinds of gamers and how many will own more consoles for the future besides just a Wii (as for example demanding games make more sense to play on more powerful hardware).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Without using synonyms for more or better, what does the PS3 offer that is new (or at least unavailable on the Wii or XBox 360)?

If you’re making an honest effort you will probably come to the conclusion that the PS3 is an unimpressively evolutionary system. Is there anything wrong with that? Not really, but it does make it very difficult to sell the system to consumers and makes a 'come back' very unlikely.

The reason for this is simple, as Nintendo has demonstrated people buy into a new generation of consoles and handhelds based on what 'new' things they offer not because they provide prettier graphics.
