I recognize that the review system has problems, but still think that "professional" reviews can still be valuable. My goal with these little "bias" studies is to determine where review sites stand on platforms, so they can be either investigated or safely ignored.

Incidentally, as a 3DS fan myself, I mentally add 3 to 5 points to most Metascores since people tend to be harsher on handheld games. It's all about using these things as tools, and not necessarily taking them at face value.

scoring system is also an issue. WHne a game gets good reviews it doesn't get many clicks on those outlets but if it gets bad reviews they will get a ton of clicks..at the end of the day game media is a business so some tend to go for overly harsh and/or controversial reviews too now.

The problem is there is no consistency across platforms. Without it, professional reviews serve no real purpose for me at a personal level. When I see another user playing a game I'm interested in I can interact directly and inquire about things that would affect my purchasing. I mean really, I see no benefit even from a purely information stand point that I can gain from a professional reviewer these days. Maybe hear about it a few days earlier if you're going to buy a game day 1? But even then most reviews these days are of such poor quality and rushed that it actually might be a bad idea to rely on them even for that purpose. Battlefield is a great example of this.

Anywho as for biased/skewed opinions on handheld games I think it would be a good idea to focus on things from a genre point of view as well. Games of FPS/TPS genre for example gets scrutinized to hell and back on handheld systems. (again it's funny because I don't see them taking out points from the console version of games because they can't match the precision and speed of PC version....because they only focus on hardware limitations and benefits from one point of view and one point of view only

I think IGN/gamespot would be a good few places for this topic of yours :) Hope you find some good info ..I'll definitely give it a read

ps: sorry about worse than usual spelling etc. Tiring and long day and it's 1.30am lol

It would seem that Borderlands 2 in EU comes a week after the US (two weeks after the bundle) - May 23.

At least according to GAME.co.uk:

https://www.game.co.uk/en/borderlands-2-243542/?cm_sp=psvita-_-banner-_-borderlands2

EDIT: ShopTo has the same date, I take that as "Confirmed"

Oh man, I just can't wait for this game. Was hoping it was coming early May, like 7th at the latest :(

This is perfect for me. Gives me ample time to spend on Conception II.If I don't tear a ligament in my wrist first  :P

I appreciate it! I'll try categorizing things by genre as well when I get the chance.

And I also understand about the time. It's 4:30 AM on my part of the planet. -_-

That would be nice. I really wanted to check out the dungeon mode. But I wouldn't be surprised if they just bring over the PS4 version to try and capitalize on a popular machine that has no gaemz.

And whoa. I didn't realize Sophitia was in it.

And some characters from Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive to.. :) I would have loved to play with taki from Soul calibur too

About the reviews thing.. Well, I tend to read the entire review and ignore the score, because sometimes the score don't make sense with what is described...  but still usually I read very few reviews, usually I already am sure of the game that I want to buy trhoiugh gameplays and such, that's when Demos come handy.

One site (but in spanish) that pretty great reviews is www.Vandal.net they write pretty long reviews, with few pages each... the first page is for general description of the serie or game, later talk about gameplay soemtimes with up to two pages... and end with graphics and sound... some reviews are from 3 to 6 pages.. very detailed.. and well written.

DoYou Want DOZENS OF NO GAEMZ?! then... Visit the Official PlayStation Vita Tread

So I've got my second Vita now.

Mwahahaha!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

According to Tsutaya buyer/merchandiser:

Sword Art Online sales are up 20% from previous game.

Vita hardware sales up 40% from last week.

Obviously this is only at Tsutaya, but that is a huge chain.

I just realized that I have never played Final Fantasy IX, so I guess I'm gonna buy it alongside Totori for the vita.
