The problem is there is no consistency across platforms. Without it, professional reviews serve no real purpose for me at a personal level. When I see another user playing a game I'm interested in I can interact directly and inquire about things that would affect my purchasing. I mean really, I see no benefit even from a purely information stand point that I can gain from a professional reviewer these days. Maybe hear about it a few days earlier if you're going to buy a game day 1? But even then most reviews these days are of such poor quality and rushed that it actually might be a bad idea to rely on them even for that purpose. Battlefield is a great example of this. Anywho as for biased/skewed opinions on handheld games I think it would be a good idea to focus on things from a genre point of view as well. Games of FPS/TPS genre for example gets scrutinized to hell and back on handheld systems. (again it's funny because I don't see them taking out points from the console version of games because they can't match the precision and speed of PC version....because they only focus on hardware limitations and benefits from one point of view and one point of view only I think IGN/gamespot would be a good few places for this topic of yours :) Hope you find some good info ..I'll definitely give it a read ps: sorry about worse than usual spelling etc. Tiring and long day and it's 1.30am lol |
I appreciate it! I'll try categorizing things by genre as well when I get the chance.
And I also understand about the time. It's 4:30 AM on my part of the planet. -_-
