I'm also sure it's not selling because theor all wi-fi models and are within the same quanity as I seen them too. Eight Vitas stacked together with two in between. If it is selling, then why not put out the 3G model or at least have some kind of different placement? Memory cards aren't selling either. There are 8 of them that are 4 and 8GB, not including the starter kit that includes the 4GB card. |
My experience is the opposite. I live in a majority black city (to reference that my demographics are similar to yours) and all memory card sizes are gone and the WiFi Vitas are gone as well. There were 2 3G units and both of them were at one store. There was a few starter kits left though.
Got mine earlier today. Been spending hours finding wallpapers and customizing it.
Haven't played a game yet but I did download a demo of Lumines and Corpse Party.
We got any clues on launch numbers yet ?
Last night when i went on Near it said there was 42 others players in 2 miles of my house, is that really in just the 2 miles it shows on that map??, Very impressed if so.

You can make your own wallpapers with the screenshot feature (PS + Start). I made lots of Uncharted wallpapers for my Vita.
When I first bought my Vita I used Near and it said I had (9) people nearby within a 2 mile radius. As of last night that number is now (49).
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:

It's only a killer app if it sells significant amounts of hardware.
Tough to say how PSV sales would have been effected without the coinciding release of Golden Abyss. It wouldn't have made a difference in Japan, but there are probably enough PS3 users in NA and EU who were big enough fans of the Uncharted franchise to at least want a PSV upon release.
It's anyone's guess as to who actually paid $300-350 to play Golden Abyss out of the gate with little regard to the rest of the initial catalog.
I did, so I suppose that's at least one.
man i get back from a weekend away from the webz and this thread is booming with over 200 new posts.
glad to see pokemonbrawler away for the last couple of pages, cant troll a system you dont have in a thread with tons of fans who are praising it for it's qualities.
i'm like in the middle of nowhere right now and 15 people are playing it =P
| ProdigyBam said: Still, 3000 ratings translate to at least 3000 digital sales, dont they? Lets say 1 in 3 persons who buy a game also rate it on the PS Store, that means about 8-10k digital sales, thats 20-25% of what the game sold in stores (according to Media Create sales), thats actually much more than I thought :) |
Yes, every rating = a sale as only people who own the game (to include licenses that were given away) can rate games.
I don't know about the whole ratings numbers vs. buyers ratios though. I've bought close to 100 games on PSN and I don't remember actually rating any of them. It's not a regular behavior for me anyway.
So unless the typical PSN user is different from me, that ratings/licenses sold ratio could be much, much higher.
What's really interesting about the PSV as a platform is that it is the first new platform for which full retail titles can be purchased via DD since release. What's even more interesting will be consumer buying trends in the DD vs. retail sales ratios. Without SCE numbers, it's going to be a lot of speculation.
