| Runa216 said: this is why I absolutely hate trying to be a trophy whore...just doing the stupid slide puzzles has me vexed. I have no problem DOING slide puzzles, I'm pretty damn good at them and practiced a lot as a kid, but it seems every time I do it I'm like, 5 seconds short. it's like, by the time you've even STARTED getting things worked out (okay, I got the top and left lines taken care of), 30 seconds has already passed, giving you like 20 seconds to finish the last 8 slots...which is NOT easy, especially when the goddamn side tiles keep messing with you by making you accidentally slide them through the walls. it's just frustrating as hell. This is why I stopped giving a shit about being a trophy whore. I play enough games to easily get platinum on almost everything I play, I just can't be bothered with the patience needed to wait for circumstances to be tolerable. As for my reviews, GAH! I'm having SUCH a hard time writing this Rayman Origins review. I have so much to say, but I know that if I go into detail about all the things I want to talk about and explain WHY these things had so much of an impact on my experience, my editor's going to have a shit fit and edit out half the review in the interest of keeping it brisk. That's the problem with game review, I know it's the respectful thing to assume your readers know what you're talking about when you discuss level design and theming, but realistically speaking, I doubt all of the thousands who will end up reading my review will understand what I mean when I discuss flow or intuitive design, so I have to explain what these things are and why they're important. Gah, what a pain in my ass |
Just finished that! It was really hard, but thanks to the numbers posted here, I was able to!

I sure hope they do. Will help get a better idea of the sales situation. A lot of anectodal evidence have shown sell outs in many places tho for larger mem cards..same was the situation in JP when psv launched and the JP psn had psv games ranking real high in sales in the weeks after I think people who pick up the bundles will be enticed to give the DD games a go..I know I will try out Escape Plan and Mutant Blobs when I get my psv next week for sure. As someone on another site pointed out, when all the games are available digitally, impulse buys tend to happen more often, especially if you have credit on your account. I think what works on psv is that unlike the psgo, the consumer has the option to use both DL and physical. Consumers don't like being restricted imo. I think with the psv and things like making kz3 f2p Sony are learning how good digital distribution can be for games. I hope they keep improving |
Of course, we have no way of knowing what the numbers were on shipped memory cards. I will go so far as to say that the popularity of the larger cards makes me question the sense in producing 4GB cards other than as the cheapest (but most expensive per GB) option and I still stand by my belief that SCE should just ship every PSV with a memory card seeing as how they have no internal memory.
After doing the memory shuffle with the included 8GB card (less than one week), I'm thinking that the least functional amount of memory is 16GB unless you don't plan on keeping more than a handful of games, demos or videos installed at any time. Buying most games through the PSN Store is a pretty strong argument for 32GB. That would go a long way in explaining the early buying trends for memory cards, even at $60-100.
The Go had a lot of issues, even though I still like the packaging. Probably the biggest problem was the target audience. It wasn't aimed at current PSP owners who had any UMD games, so presumably it was for potential new users for a platform that was already five years old. It didn't help that most savvy consumers could see that the price of old UMD games (for those who were new to the platform) were almost always cheaper than they were on the PSN Store. For the PSV, as a new platform where sales on new games are a lot more limited, it's a lot less of an issue.
Wait Netflix is on Vita? Can I load up my account on there?

Can't say as a non-Netflix customer, but if the app is in the PSN Store, then I don't see why not.

Hmmm... Well, they had me fooled cuz NEAR says it's the "number of people playing in your area" |
I know, that's what fooled me, but even though it says number of people playing, that's not what it shows. Or at least not number of individuals playing. I guess you could argue that is shows number of people playing, but as I said it could all be on the same Vita.
And that puzzle-image is a good idea, but it doesn't really seem to help me getting the last trophy... (15 pcs)
I'm more of a competitive fighting fan kind of guy but I can't help but want MK9 and SFxT on Vita especially when they come with more content for cheaper. Downside is obviously no arcade stick support but considering I'm an average player I won't be heading to EVO any time soon anyway. It's nice to see devs differentiate multiplat versions of games as opposed to making just pure 1:1 ports.

Haha i can't wait for conspiracy theories from 3DS owners.
Mario Kart sold 20 gazilions copies why those 3rd parties make games for PSV. It's anti nintendo conspiracy...
