Speculation is not a bad thing...

Also, Sony released rankings for 2013 online sales at the Japanese PS Store.
http://www.jp.playstation.com/psn/store/sp/131227storerank2013/?ref=rss

Overall:
#1 Dragon's Crown - Vita
#2 Dragon's Crown - PS3
#3 Super Robot Wars Operation Extend Pack - PSP(+Vita)
#4 God Eater 2 - Vita only
#5 Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus - Vita
#6 Toukiden - Vita only
#7 Soul Sacrifice - Vita
#8 Earth Defense Force 4 - PS3
#9 Demon Gaze - Vita
#10 Summon Night 5 - PSP(+Vita)

So 2013 is already over? ;)

Very impressive, that 9 games of the Top10 are Vita-games!

The PS1-TopTen is also a good sign, it seems, they are ready for FF X / X-2 on the Vita:

Akiba's Trip 2?

As for the last one... maybe Corpse Party: Blood Drive? Only we haven't seen any art work released from that to be able to find a match.

Do we have the digital sales numbers form one of these games? It'd be nice to know what range they are in...

awesome screenshots! hope someone localizes this. Maybe xseed. but they dpn't have interest in digimon :(. I hope this changes their mind

PS Vita Rankings:

#4 Toukiden
#5 Soul Sacrifice
#6 Demon Gaze
#7 Oboro Muramasa
#8 Persona 4 The Golden
#9 Genkai Tokki Monster Monpiece
#10 Valhalla Knights 3

I think Demon Gaze is the most impressive ranker, for such a small company title. I also chuckled at Monpiece, I guess a lot of people found it too embarassing to buy in person! One thing is for certain though: Vita's digital sales are astounding.

I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday. Well, the New Year is still coming up!

Awesome Sales! Go Vita!

I'm going to spam a couple of posts in a row now because I have a lot to say, so apologies in advance.  First, news dump:

Samurai Warriors 4 'perhaps' headed west next summer (didn't they say we weren't going to see another SW game?  Hmm):

XSeed puts SCEA to shame really...I mean both Shinovi Vs and AkibaStrip2? 'slow clap'

I still feel like SCE has a hand in some of these game announcements.  Idk.  Considering we've struggled to get any Japanese localizations aside from Disgaea; Raganrok & Persona in Vita's first year to suddenly being flooded with niche stuff like Sorcery Saga; Conception; Demon Gaze & apparently Akiba Strip... feels like more than coincidence to me.  Idk.  I think Sony has picked up the bigger titles like Tales and are pushing the smaller publishing houses like XSEED and Aksys to pick up the smaller games.

Maybe I'm wrong, but still.  Feels like too much of a turnaround.  Although, Akiba's Trip I suppose is a special case since there's also a PS3 SKU so they have some security.

ANYWAY:

Kudos XSEED.  As if my wallet wasn't being battered enough in 2014 thanks to Atelier/Lightning Returns/Symphonia/Danganronpa/Demon Gaze/Ys/Sorcery Saga; now they're throwing in Yakuza-with-stripping as well?  Deary me.

P.S. Digimon looks ace.

P.P.S. Those digital rankings are ace.

Hmm... were just missing that Persona knock-off. What was it called? I forget.

Digimon looks stunning. I hope it comes over. I could get that.

edit: Mind zero!

Finally found what I was looking for:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5849527

Famitsu's digital rankings had Rain selling 36,488 digitally in October.  Rain was the 2nd ranking download-only title in that link Baldr posted, the first being the "Super Robot Wars Operation Extend pack of eight chapters".

That SRW game/expansion charted at #3 in the overall charts, but Rain didn't show up at all.  Does that mean that every game in that top 10 sold more than 36,488 digitally?

Seems awfully high to me, especially for something like Summon Night 5, but if those Famitsu numbers are correct then that's what it seems to be suggesting.

My lost faith in XSeed might be soon recovered!...
