Even the other Maou show has ton of plot and seriousness to it. It's more about macroeconomies than anything else.

Good newz: Valhalla Knights 3 is getting online patched in for the western release. Even if it's just a throwaway multiplayer arena, I was kind of worried about the fact that MP was ad-hoc only. Didn't really expect them to go the extra mile and do this, but the fact that they have is making me preorder!

Now that you officially represent Marvelous in the U.S., are Marvelous AQL going to be looking for more feedback from Western players while developing their games?

Yes, because MarvelousAQL is really eager to expand their presence in the Western market.  One of the things we’re doing in the near term to cater to Western players is adding online support to Valhalla Knights 3.

In Japan it released with only ad-hoc 2-player versus mode, but we knew with the population in North America being much more spread out, as well as the still growing penetration rate of the Vita hardware, that if we wanted Western gamers to really enjoy the versus feature that online connectivity had to be added.

It's also interesting to note that XSeed sounds higher on the Vita than they do on the 3DS and are looking at more Vita games to bring over (like Mind 0, hopefully!).

People focus too much on the raw hardware sales and best selling titles on here.

It's becoming blatantly obvious, that the mid tier performers on Vita are doing better than on most other formats despite the much smaller overall userbase. There's also not the huge titles everyone buys coming out sapping money allowing the audience to trickle down to games that wouldn't stand a chance on other formats.

My taste in gaming is generally more to the original/unique/niche end of the spectrum, so Vita is suiting me down to a tee and I'm glad to see that the developers/publishers who focus on that part of the market are all doing well on Vita.

It's all these damn otakus
