afaik 3g is not good for online gaming. So I guess it's the same as having a data plan for a smart phone. GPS, web browsing anywhere, Near and other apps active anywhere etc would be the benefit

I'm personally holding out for the inevitable 4G Model, so I'll stick with wifi for now.

yeah and cheaper too. i personally have no use for 3g whatsoever so wifi it is ..will be using that extra cash to buy a game or two :D but i can see how a 3g model can be useful for some depending on how they travel

ps: like shuriya said above...a 4g model is inevitable as well :) like with my psp I will most probably pick a limited edition or colored PSV with 4g or something down the road

you know I think there's a good chance a good bulk of the first shipment in Japan was 3g models. lots of places claiming wifi model being sold out. Hope sony ships more wifi models next shipment. should be interesting

Those PAL prices make me sad. Also, about the starter kit: are the ear phones in it the same as the ear phones that are bought separately. The one's that where in that accessory video and where said to be made by skull candy?

I'll be getting Escape Plan+Rayman Origins+8GB/16GB card. Still debating If I should get Wifi or 3G. If I'm going with wifi then I'm using that extra $50 for another game.

I'm still on the wall and if 3 G model was 1200 PLN like it was supposed to be few months ago I'd buy one but after all the mess EU idiots did normal Wi-Fi model will cost 1100-1200 thanks to exchange rate collapse :(

With Sony buying out the Ericsson partenership I think Vita will become a full fledged phone within 2 years. SCEI always said they were willing to make a PSP phone, but they refused to give the green light unless it was a Sony only venture. No it is only a matter of time, and I think the vita chips will be shrunk enough within the two years to be very viable for a phone.

FIFA looks awesome on it, will probably pick up 13 on PSV instead of PS3.

I doubt Sony would make a Vita Phone, they've been very clear about the Vita not being a phone from the beginning, because it wouldn't help it.

OT: Getting a Vita is really tempting, but I really, really hope they will improve the battery life in a future iteration, not to mention put 32 GB cards on sale in Europe. And Uncharted is nowhere near 4 GB, why exactly do we need a memory card to play it, when there is plenty of room for saving on its cartridge?!

European Price is 300€, which is ~390 dollars atm. i really don't know anything about the loan niveau differences between NA and Europe, but there are huge differences within the EU countries. I.E. the average loan in germany is about 40.000€ (52000 USD) p.a., a polish worker earns around 6.500€ (8500 USD) a year.

No 32GB memory cards is a mess, too. Heck, are they so hard to produce? Ain't enough capacity on the market to produce simple flash memory? Aren't they earning a lot of money selling those overpriced stuff?

I really don't know which people decide this - in my opinion those facts will reflect in sales.
