Hong Kong gets pummeled by pre-orders for PS Vita!

Pre-orders for the PlayStation Vita began today in Hong Kong, the second city to get access to the device, with all of the expected frenzy. Retail stores were mobbed, online stores were jammed, the government considered military quarantine of shopping districts -- you know, the usual. OK, China didn't contemplate violent force (that we know of) but it was a pretty manic pre-order scene all around, according to Richard Lai of Engadget China.

After witnessing the potential of U.S. shoppers to get down and dirty over $2 waffle irons, we're terrified to experience the homeland Vita pre-order spree. Just please, leave your pepper spray at home.

Vita is on track to be the biggest gaming handheld in history. i hope PS3 follows the release of Vita in China. the WW launch and launch window looks to be huge. maybe even the biggest ever. Vita may even sale more units then 3ds in its first full yr. making it the number one handheld of the 8th gen. well i'm being hopeful.

Wow... those memory cards are way too expensive...

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

looks like Sony is doing their old trick of making the system as cheap as possible, but pricing the accessories as high as possible to get money that way, so overall, they end up in the black

yeah I also think the mem cards are way too expensive. but sadly since they are selling the psv for the price they do, this must be their way of making back some of the money. Some of their main games games such as Golden Abyss requiring a mem card will get them some good money out of this..i'm not exactly thrilled about it tho :S gonna buy one of those 4gb cards

that video of jumping from gameplay to xmb was great! very fast and smooth transition
