Forums - General - Lulzsec attacks Canada's Prime Minister!

Well Lulzsec apparently decided to play a prank on Canada. Today Lulzsec hacked the Conservative Party website. For those of you who don't know the Conservative Party leader Stephen Harper was recently elected Prime Minister of Canada. The prank was huge a Lulzsec hacker hacked the sites news feed and decided to prank the whole country.

The hacker decided to write a false story saying that Prime Minister Stephen Harper choked on a hashbrown during his morning breakfast. The article claimed he was rushed to a Toronto hospital. The fake news spread all across the country with many being totally freaked out. Canada's state news agency CBC was quick to refute the story showing video of the Prime Minister in the House of commons.

So while the story was quickly shot down it seems Lulzsec really did pull the wool over many peoples eyes scaring quite a few and leading to the Government having to prove the Prime Minister was okay. So not only has Lulzsec attacked Sony and other major companies like recently Nintendo. They attacked the US FBI and now they attack the Government of Canada through the Conservative Party website.

I gotta say I never fell for it as CBC was very quick to put an end to the story. It seems the prank worked and hahahahaha Lulzsec you single handedly scared a whole country. Whats next Obama is a Kenyan officially announced on the White House website? Now that would be funny!

What do you think, the hack never really caused any damage it just scared the crap out of a ton of Canada. Is this funny? Do you think Lulzsec will attack another Government? Will we be hearing more fake news released across the globe? Whats your take on this hack?

I dunno, Anon seems to be trying to put forward a political message and purposely attacking corporate and Government targets. Lulzsec just seems to be doing it for the hell of it and to get some laughs. I mean the report said no info was stolen the guy just wanted to prank the country I guess.

If it's just a harmless prank, it's for the good.

A signal to tell them goverment workers to properly secure their series of tubes.

I guess I can see the funny side of that when they don't steal credit card information and sell it.

It is a bit of a joke, however, that a ruling party website was that easy to hack.

Ah reminds me of the dark knight... " If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan." But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds! "

apparently i have completely missed this event.

Same here, nothing on this matter at all.

Lol, they should prank Anonymous

The Globe and Mail is reporting that someone named LulzRaft, not LulzSec, was responsible for the hacking the party's site.
