Well just imagine how amazing the environments in Pikmin will look in 1080p :)

If that's not enough to really get you excited about it, just think how much better the new tabled controller interface will be for the gameplay rather than using the Wiimote.  And considering the fact that we know that Pikmin 3 has been in the works for several years now, it's a pretty high possibility that it could be one of the Wii U's launch titles or launch not too long after the system's release.

As for other possible launch titles, I can tell you right now we're not getting Smash for launch... Nintendo will probably wait a bit for the Wii U's install base to grow a bit so they can launch both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game simultaneously sometime in 2013 probably.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Thing is I'm not too keen on waiting even longer to play a game that is almost finished, let alone alone spend on all new hardware for it.

There is practically nothing left for Wii besides Zelda and Kirby... Ending this gen with a whimper is not the kind of experience that'll convince me to spend $300 or more on another Nintendo system, that may or may not live up to its potential.

At least, you know you don't have to buy all the extra controllers since you can use your Wiimotes. Those alone cost a fortune more.

Unlike MS/Sony, their old controllers don't work on newer machine even if the buttons layout are identical.

While I agree that better graphics are a bonus, I can't see how that will make Pikmin more amazing. And the new controller, while better than a standard pad, how can it be better than the wiimote for this game? As the Wii editions of the previous 2 games proved, the wiimote was perfect for Pikmin.

That's true, but I just hate this attitude from Nintendo where it's completely obvious I am going to upgrade just because I own a Wii... It kinda pisses me off.

yeah because you could always use controllers from old Ninty systems to play games on their current ones, give me a break.

With the controller the possibilties are good, but man i can imagine some Wii owners being steamed, it was supposed to be on WIi, thats one less game coming to that console and they need a few

For me a love Pikmin to death and hoped for it this year but it being moved to the WiiU is good and awesome when you think of how much more we would be able to do with it and the way to play it. It is a perfect fit! Amazing nature graphics and solid controls with the new controller or with the WiiMote :D

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(
