Stop the damage control man. Sony had nothing. At least MS got two Halo games announced. PS3 got nothing new!! If this was the MS conference you would have called it underwhelming. |
Sly 4 and Dust. While Halo remake was expected and Halo IV was rumored. To sum it up:
Decent conference, a bit dull, but some good content on show for Vita. And I'm very proud of Sony, they finally learned that no one gives a crap about a conference that is filled with montages.
I almost fell asleep, then they talked about their full-screen split-screen thing which woke me up for a little while. But when I noticed I had been asleep for a while again and I just went to bed.
Of course that wouldn't happen if the conference wasn't in the middle of the night over here.

They still had a good few, but they didn't drag on as long as past shows. I agree with that sentiment too, during montages, the bathroom becomes quite the hang out zone. :P All-in-all, this wasn't their best E3 (to me), but it had a good blend of old, new, and expected. The Vita is getting a nice amount of buzz right now, which is a great way to get the ball rolling for a new platform. |
I was really worried when they started out with the first montage. Like "Oh shit, this is going to be so boring!". Not that it turned out to be all that exciting, but at least they didn't show as many montages.
I don't have a problem with what they had, I have a problem with what they didn't have.
The stuff they showed was great, almost perfection, it pleased all crowds. While the conference could have been broken up better into clear sections and Move could have had more games announced for it, what was announced was great.
My problem is that there wasn't enough surprises, no real shockers or brilliant reveals. The presentation wasn't the best of the best either, I wish the presentation was like Microsoft's, as bad as their conference was, the presentation with live demo's and trailers was excellent, the pacing was perfect.
One thing that hurt the conference most though was that it was too short and too rushed, they had so many games to showcase and announce, both multiplatform and exclusive, we know they have them, but they didn't show them :/
I was eagerly awaiting a new shocking game like GTA5 or Agent, but nothing. I wanted to see some Final Fantasy XIII - 2 and Last Guardian gameplay too, but nothing.
I will fully review all the E3's soon, maybe we should start a thread to round up E3 perhaps?

I liked it. The TV got my attention, I might have to grab that someday. Dust 514 really caught my eye too. My buddies all like the idea of it as well. And the Vita? Well lets just say its a day 1 purchase. Plus LittleBigPlanet and ModNation Racers on it? Woot! And Golden Abyss looks just amazing. Now I eagerly await launch dates for the system.
Edit: Dang how could I forget Sly? I'm so glad Sony decided to bring it back. And I think its cool how Sucker Punch was kinda advertising it a bit even though they aren't making it (Infamous backpack anyone?)
A little curious as to when, if ever they will announce ps2 classics for PSN.
It was a good conference in my opinion, but I wish it was 30 minutes longer, so they can fit more gameplay from 3rd parties.
