i still think there should be a section for each console. *sulks*
wow, we're on 2nd page!
yeah, like others have said, stick to what makes you stand out from the others.
more analysis tools would be nice. yes, the feature is good as is, but it can always be better!
one thing that i always want to do searches for games that satisfy a certain criterion. say, display all games with sales in 200,000 to 500,000 LTD range. or, games with Week 1 sales > 500,000. or, games with Week 1 to Week 2 sales change
those search features would add a lot to the site. seeing that these are essentially database queries i think it's something that adds a lot of value with relatively little effort!
the Wii is an epidemic.
The game database, sales data/analysis, and community are great. This site really doesn't need anything else.
Continue to improve on the game database and sales accuracy.
Most definitely don't start doing reviews, I come here weekly to see the sales figures but I come daily to read the discussions among people with the same interest: sales figures. The community would be diluted and hence much less interesting if you start doing reviews.
What you could do is post continuously updated lists of important new previews and reviews on the big sites, and perhaps keep average review scores like some other sites currently do. That's the kind of thing now appearing on the forums, and I think the forum topics are generally a good idea of what kind of site content people here would be interested in. Stock prices are another thing that come to mind..
Personally my #1 request would be to have sales figures of PC games as well, I don't understand why those aren't here now; can't be much extra effort to collect them.
In any case, keep up the good work!
I first came to Vgchartz just out of sales figure curiosity. Because of this, I am assuming Vgchartz as a data website is also its primary function. Sales numbers should be the #1 priority in this case.
But expanding to something new - I think the next priority should be the expanding of the database in a more organized and user-friendly form. (Always room for improvement.) This is a source of data, and because of such, that needs to be improved and expanded upon.
(As a side note, I came back to see the news articles and user threads in the forums... That should be kept as it is. Community is always a first priority.)
Yet no one replies as to why Pro Evolution Soccer 08 for the playstation 3 sales are sperated?

You could do what http://thehylia.com/ did a few months ago. The hylia is a Zelda fan site, but as time went by they started posting general Nintendo news. So what they did was to split the site in two. They kept The hylia as it formarly was, posting only Zelda news and not run by the owner. And the owner of the Hylia, TSA, switched to the new site http://www.zentendo.com/.

Just a couple things that would be cool and bring more people IMO...
Obviously, the #'s & data are most important...the forum & news the second....the forum creates a foundation of dedicated people for the website...a community of sorts.
1. Somehow monitor your game voting system...it's a joke. Boot out the outlier votes or SOMETHING...when a game hasn't even been released yet and it has a vote of 1, there is a problem. Maybe require people have it in their "games I own" list in order to vote, etc. People get sick of seeing certain wonderful games with a score of 3.47 when they are actually 8+ games! Fanboys are ruining the voting system completely.
2. Sometimes point/reward/rep systems are really neat, fun, & addicting. Over at ps3forums.com they have a +rep you can give people to add to their reputatioin based on intelligent posts, how long they've been members, how many posts they've made, etc. You also earn points that you can buy "icons" at the shop, etc. based on the # of posts you make (imagine Soriku!). To "showoff" that you're an elder, important member, etc. Neat idea.
Well, I now only have access to a PS3 & 360...Plan on buying a wii soon (lol, if I can ever find one available!) but will probably wait until some of the major RPG's come out like Dragon Quest & Tales, etc.
Anyhow, I'm so far behind in games to play that I'm not in a huge hurry (lol, haven't even gotten a chance to finish God of War II yet!)
if ioi you would to start a review thing. You could have a board of three mods and they each would have to approve of it.
The board would consist of ckmlb, mrstick ball, and shams. Of course this is just an example. I think with something like we could have an unbiased review.
All right now for my suggestion. Add a section to each member's profile for a "My Tracked Games". Say I put Halo 3 in there an it would tell it's sales in each region with a percentage. That would a very cool addition IMO. Also, a reputation system that can tell newer users how good the poster is, etc.
Keep up the great work!
