Sorry but i don't see it as you.For me Nintendo is releasing 7th generation console cause being on par with PS3 in terms graphics(in best scenario 2 times more powerful) don't give them anything.PS3/X360 will be cheaper then Cafe and will offer massive libriary of games so it will hold Cafe from selling and in 2012/2013 PS4 and X3 will come being 15-30 times more powerful than Cafe so i believe that Cafe will be stuck like Dreamcast did.Being more powerful than PS3/X360 but also being crushed by PS4/X3.Cafe will be most powerful only for a year and no one will make games to fully use it's capabilities for 2mln owners. Also i don't see Nintendo catching core gamers cause they will never make 1st party exclusives to compete with God of War,Gears of War,Gran Turismo,Halo or Uncharted. They will never make games with shiny graphics or for adult target only.

Ya 15-30 times more powerful?.....at least my point of view is logical....

the same as PS3/X360 is 20-30 times more powerful than Wii.Nintendo won't make high end console.Console cycles were 5 years in the past and always next gens were around 30 times more powerful then their predecesors and with 7-8 years now i see it up to 30 times and depends on it will Cafe be on par with PS3 or 2 times more powerful(which could have been done in 2007) the PS4 will be 15 to 30 times more powerful.

Nintendo is brilliant, but in a very different way. They are taking revenge on third parties.

During the seventh generation Nintendo decided to go against cutting edge graphics in order to keep development costs of games down, both in home consoles and handhelds. This was done to benefit the entire gaming industry (minus Sony and Microsoft, of course) and in return Nintendo themselves by getting more and better third party support than in the past. What actually happened is that third parties for the most part used the DS and Wii to cash in and then funneled those profits into projects for the HD consoles, because those expensive games couldn't sustain themselves. Sure, there have been numerous hit games on the 360 and PS3, but for the longest time they couldn't cover the losses of all the failures (and there were plenty on the HD consoles).

So what is Nintendo's reaction? They put out eighth generation systems that don't sell to the mainstream and up the development costs. Now when the next round of gaming machines is available third parties won't have a safety net. Nintendo has proven in the past that they can operate a profitable business even if their hardware sales are less than good. Third parties haven't, so most likely one after another of them will go down in flames, unless they find a way to nickel and dime the "hardcore" enough to make up for all their expenses.

Those are very very wise words, I agree 100%

I want proof, I can't think of any generation jump being 30x, let alone doing it 'always' as you claim.

Plus, I don't what you're saying about Nintendo not targeting adults.  If anything Nintendo has been ruthlessly and effectively targetting the adult audience, far more so than Sony or MS.  Game like Brain Training appealed pretty much entirely to adults, in particular those aged 40 plus and has sold a shit load as a result.  BT is a perfect example of a game with an adult target audience in mind.

It made perfect sense.

Yeah it is adult market like Nintendo see it.Tell me which exclusives from Nintendo can make God of War,GT,Uncharted fan to change PS3 to Cafe?Or Gears,Forza,Halo fan?personaly i enjoy Nintendo games(especialy from GC era) but i like all kinds of games but out there the most core gamers are COD,GOW,GT,GTA fans.

to the 30x part:

PSX can do 0,5k polygons per sec(with textures)

PS2 can do 10mln (with textures)

X360 can do 300-500mln(up to 500 with PS2 era effects)

PSX 1MB VRAM

PS2 32MB

X360 512MB RAM

PSX 32MHz CPU

PS2 299MHz

X360 3 core 3,2GHz

I'm not telling that each gen is 30x more powerful in every aspect but overall it can do at least 20-30 times more basic calculations.I would compare it to Horse Power. In consoles HP is increasing super fast but also weight increases(the newer the effect the more power they consumes so you can't compare no-AA to games which use 16xAA).But Basicly every next gen can do 20-30x more mathematical calculations then it predecesor in the same amount of time.

I trimmed the content of the quotes to save space but I'm replying to your last few posts.

1. A console generation is never defined by it's performance.  Project Cafe is an 8th generation console whether you like it or not.  Just as the Wii is a 7th generation console.  Generations are denoted by the successor/predecessor relationship of flagship home and portable consoles grouped by a generalized release period.

2. 30x is a gross exaggeration of the increase in performance from generation to generation.   Just because some of the computational power makes that kind of leap does not mean the overall processing performance does.

3. So long as Project Cafe utilizes modern shader operations and HD output resolutions, 3rd parties will support it with multiplatform software far more so than they did with Wii thanks to amortized costs of which Wii did not allow.

4. Your suggested perfomance capabilities of Project Cafe compared to PS3/X360 and the upcoming PS4/NextX are firstly incorrect (based on rumored componenets) and secondly wholly unknown (given we have no idea what plans Sony and MS have for their next consoles though conventional wisdom [not fanboy speculation] suggests a far more subdued technology jump compared to the jump from PS2 to PS3.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

It would be extremly brilliant if we had more games... I have not bought anything since MH3, one year ago.

There's far better games on other platform, and that's where goes my money now.

As i said new effects kills the performance but that's the only way to turn graphics into number and to compare it.if you try compare it diffrent than basic computing performance than it will be irelevant.also i said that if Cafe will be as it's said in par up to twice of power of PS3.I do not think it will be smaller leap.technology goes forward and it will be more bigger  leap than between ps2 and ps3 but of course to our eyes it won't be as that big.again it's like with cars.jumping from 200HP engine to 400HP feals much bigger than from 400HP to 800HP.

And as i said if Cafe will be so technologicaly inferior to  PS4/X3 like Wii was to PS3/X360 than i don't think it will have very big support because Cafe will probably launch in Q2 2012 and we can expect other next gens maybe even in Q4 2012.and certianly MS and Sony console will once again have bigger audience combined. Also it's exclusives what really counts and for core gamers it Sony and MS have better cards on the table.also multiplatforms will definetly look better on PS4/X3 so Nintendo strategy is to capture casuals once again and it's difficult because they do not stick to one brand which showed jumps from SNES to PS and form PS2 to Wii.Also if Sony and MS go high end than also PC playrs will be minor factor because they will also be on par tehnologicaly with PS4/X3.So this is much bigger audience to make games than lone wanderer Cafe.Of course all i said will be unimportent if Cafe will launch with some kind of Nvidia GTX580 Ultra...
